Ordered take out the man over the drive thru was rude all because we asked if they could lightly salt the olays because recently they’ve been extremely salty and not even edible. He said “they couldn’t do that” which then okay we said no salt. He was nice to us at the window but no exception for the attitude while we ordered. Then he said they lightly salted them when handing us our food but the food quality has went down hugely.

Great atmosphere, the staff was incredible especially the store manager, Stephanie. The food, is definitely good but just not great, especially for the price. I went for nostalgia and my mom worked at a Taco John’s when I was a kid and was hoping that they still had the Apple Grande but no dice. 🙁

Not sure why this restaurant has declined, but what used to be a daily stop will now shift to a last resort. The food has suffered both from srink-flation and inflation. Can in some regards understand one of the two, but getting half of what you used to get for half again more and prepared with the dexterity of someone with ten thumbs. Just wasn’t worth making a left turn in traffic to get into the parking lot.

Potato oles were old hard and cold, tacos weren’t even cooked, service was rude, & tables & highchairs were sticky & gross. There was no one else in the lobby & they weren’t busy so no excuse for dirty tables. When asked if they had anything to wipe and sanitize the tables they pointed to a wet dirty towel next to a dirty bucket of water sitting on the trash cans they were irritated that we asked for fresh oles.

Ordered Taco Burgers when I got home and opened them the buns were hard. When we went back to get money back was told no way by Josie manager on duty. Said it was my problem not hers. Said that I should have brought them back when I saw they were hard. Told her that we did. Again said not her problem. I will be contacting corporate manager about this. She was very rude and unprofessional.

The GM Colton had an attitude with me for missing my turn and going in the service exit. He claims I almost hit him going 5MPH…. What a pansy. Regardless I left without ordering out of fear of what he would do to my food.

Dear Taco Johns on 6th St, in Carroll, IA. Nice try.
I must admit, when I heard the words fried chicken and taco in the same sentence, It piqued my curiosity. Although, I should not have gotten my hopes up. The biggest disappointment out of my experience with this, fried chicken taco, was that I got exactly what I expected to get. Yet part of me, with a childlike glimmer of hope thought maybe, just maybe, I will get a product that looks like the picture in the advertisement.
I dreamt of thick, juicy chicken with a fried crispy crunch, bulging out of the soft shell flour tortilla and bursting with flavor in every bite. This dream was short-lived. As I open the bag, the feeling of expectation versus reality begins to set in. I unwrap my fried chicken taco only to find two anemic fried chicken particles buried under cheese and lettuce. How very typical.
These tacos, arguably, are not disgusting. In fact, I actually quite enjoyed the spicy jalapeno ranch. If a friend or colleague were to ask, “hey, how are those fried chicken taco things at taco johns?” I’d reply with “yeah, they’re not bad.” For this, I rate you a 3.0 out of five stars. An average rating for a very average fast food experience.
