Just moved to town. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Had to wait for service. Bartender was also the table server. Food comes in cardboard container, salsa is in plastic packet and fork are also plastic. Folder got tacos. Shells broke. Never would we come back.

I dined for dinner here for a friends birthday! Mel was our server and she was absolutely amazing! I didn’t know what to order but she recommended the greatest cocktail my friends and I ever tasted!

We went for dinner at Taco Flats Lakeway. Both of us had Carne Asada, Guacamole and Chips and queso and chips. They were quite tasty. Lots of TVs showing basketball games etc. Quite vibrant: noise level a bit high.

This is a great spot in Lakeway. Staff is super great. It does not get as crowded as alot of Lakeway spots, so little to no wait for GREAT TACOS & Queso. Good bar seating as well for dining alone!

Taco Flats is not your “typical” taco restaurant. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and great food. You can keep track of sports on the tvs, or listen to great music no matter the genre. I have always had good service. There are times it is not as “fast” but most often it is during a packed house, or right after a huge rush. Expect to go with an I am ready to hang out attitude. It is very friendly where you can bring a laptop, book, or a table full of friends.

Taco Flats opened within the past few months in Lakeway. I decided to check them out today. Ordered 2 tacos on flour. First, Pollo Asado and also the Barbacoa. Both tacos are sizable and 2 are enough for lunch if you’re hungry.
The Pollo Asado was overfilled with ingredients and the chicken was overcooked and super dry. It was very subpar.
The Barbacoa was so greasy that I left feeling that I drank 3 tablespoons of oil.
Overall, way overpriced, bland food and bland environment. Definitely don’t recommend and will not be going back. The food quality wasn’t an issue of the cook having a bad day. I think that this is their standard.

My husband and teen son are obsessed with the queso and chips. I just picked some up, and they are both warm and delicious. We tried queso in many places but Taco Flats wins. Perfect texture, warm and so good. Sorry for the pic, they were in the middle of eating.

Soup and tacos were great. Attention, and music on point, not too loud and not too low.
On the tacos, cheese was grilled to the tortilla which gave it a unique taste and made it more flavorful. I even ordered another soup to go.
