This place was not good at all! I ordered 2 orders of cheesecake, and the guy came to the window & said they only had 3 but wanted to charge me for 4 I told him to take an order off & he rolled his eyes at me & had an attitude, I also ordered the mexi chips & dip, the Guacamole tasted sour, they had nothing but beef.( they were out of everything else. The cheese was dumped in the Togo box, the beans were old & dry. I also ordered a bean burrito it was all tortilla hardly any beans.

This Taco Bueno had a bad rating on Yelp but our experience was good! The place was very clean, everybody was nice and friendly, the food was fast, good and a reasonably priced! My one typical complaint is the Firehouse salsa is still a bit watery and bland (wish they had multiple salsa options like Rosa’s) and their guacamole isn’t anything special but at least they aren’t usually stingy. Otherwise everything was good!

So I went to taco Bueno this week after going last week and my gosh, their prices have jumped considerably! The food was good enough. had a bean burrito, a taco and a cheesecake chimi. The price of the chimi is outrageous! It jumped from $1.49 to $2.89. Look how tiny this thing is. it’s crazy expensive!

Never again! One:their condenser at the drink machine was busted, and there was water all over the floor in that corner so that you couldn’t get near the drink machine without stepping in water.
Two: special ordered my chicken potato burrito, no sour cream. what’s on it? when I open the burrito sour cream!
so I take it back. They make up one without sour cream. I take one bite and the chicken is disgusting. It was cold. tasted uncooked with a really bad flavor to it. since my friend was enjoying her taco nachos, I just set my burrito aside, and ate my beans and cheese. which tasted OK.
but no, I’m not going back to taco Bueno again!
when we were first served, an employee gave me a cup that had sticky stuff all over the rim. I asked another lady for another cup.
after all that it’s just time to give up on taco Bueno. For good.

Update – Buffalo Gap Bueno has really improved by a lot! Now I still have hit or miss days and end up driving back which is an inconvenience and let down but, The management has been nothing but professional and so kind towards me with remaking my food. The food has been really fresh and delicious lately and I have been going much more than before.
Ordered a Chicken Quesadilla and it was complete trash! Most of it was not edible and I also spit out most of it. It tasted burnt, hard, old and just not edible. I managed to eat a few edges of it but I mainly ate the hot sauce. Next time I’ll order just hot sauce for dinner because that’s what I ate.
I don’t understand why every Taco Bueno I go to cannot make a quesadilla. They use to be stuffed,cheesy,fresh and just absolutely delicious. I miss when they use to care here in Abilene. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself knowing I will be disappointed but I keep my hopes up that this one time it’ll be different.

Nachos for like 5 bucks. It also had ground beef and beans on them too. The nachos tasted great for the 5 dollar price.

The service was fine they were nice. It was drive-thru so no atmosphere. Today the day after is bad. The chips were so old and stale I don’t know what oil they’re using but it’s not good. It looked like the stuff was just slapped on and there was no hot sauce given. But it really doesn’t matter because it was like I was eating really old food. And I will not be eating fast food anymore after this. I grew up here and Taco Bueno was one of the best places to go eat at some point not anymore and it’s like that for a bunch of fast food places it’s just not good for you.

Me and Wife and son went there today for Lunch had to wait 30-40 minutes to get our food and it was NOT busy. We got our food and they messed up on an order the person at the cashier was making orders but slamming orders I guess that he kept messing up on in trash. Other customers came in he didn’t even acknowledge them so they left without ordering. I love Taco Bueno but for some reason this one is always messing up! This isn’t the first time this place did me like this. I will not be going to this one again. The north 1st is the best one to goto.

Ordered a Mexi Dips and chips, no guacamole sub beans. First I was charged 49 cents for this swap, when that has never been the case before. 2nd they were apparently out of the corn bowls but never communicated that to me. And 3rd the amount of queso was pitiful as were the amount of chips. As seen in the pics. 4th they appeared to be understaffed and the wait was 15+ min just to order.
That is my main complaint about Bueno vs Taco bell. While Bueno is normally better. They are never consistent. While Bell is consistent but not as good.
