In 1967, we opened our doors in Abilene, TX to share fresh, authentic Mexican food. Now, almost 52 years later, while the other guys have turned to packaged and processed foods, we’ve stayed true to our roots by crafting authentic recipes in each of our kitchens. We do things the Bueno way, and you’re sure to taste the difference.
Counter-serve Mexican chain offering tacos, burritos & quesadillas plus a serve-yourself salsa bar.

This is probably the freshest Bueno that I have ever had at any of their restaurants! Folks this is one of my personal favorite fast food restaurants too, so better believe that I know when it’s outstanding ! I had part taco’s and burritos , a drink, and cheesecake chimis which are amazing by the way.

Dirty, Slow, Wrong order, told I ordered wrong, didn’t apologize when I had to prove that I ordered correctly, filthy dining room, not 1 clean table. Nasty food. Over priced. Taco Bueno is inconsistent on a good day. I know this. Why did I stop in here today? I wanted a quick lunch so I could rest before my training that afternoon. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE UPDATED OR TORN DOWN. Disgusting.

I don’t know what’s wrong with this location. They used to be good and consistent, but they’ve jumped on the portion-skimping bandwagon. Now every time I come here and get a taco, the shells are stale and they put the smallest amount of meat known to man. The tacos are basically $3 each at $2.69, and it’s just not worth it anymore!

First of all, the female manager is spectacular. She is professional, kind, and appreciates her regulars that keep coming back. When she is working the food is on point and you can guarantee the service will be the best it can be. When she is not working the food can be hit and miss. But this location is considerably better then the memorial and western location.
One awesome thing about Taco Bueno is that they offer a veteran discount all year long and it really does help reduce the total cost of an order. This location is notorious for closing their lobby a good 10 to 20 minutes early when May is not working, and can be frustrating after walking a mile to get there before the actual scheduled closing time for the lobby. Even though the drive through is still open for an additional hour after the lobby closes.
Lastly this location does do a good job at keeping the interior clean even though the exterior definitely shows its age.

We used this Bueno for a company staff meeting this morning. Everything was hot/fresh, they included tons of salsas and pico and jalapeños, and there was more than enough chips and queso to go around. It was ready on time, and the shift manager (Kyle?) was very helpful when I called to confirm the order yesterday. Thank you to the staff for helping everything go smoothly!

It’s Taco Bueno – the fast food in our region that saves us from suffering from Taco Bell. That being said, this location seems overworked and tired. The food is fine, typical Bueno fair. Reliable. The salsa bar is present, but it was kind of messy. The drive through is awful – who designed this building? The traffic sometimes backs up onto 2nd Street, though, to be fair, dumb drivers aren’t Taco Bueno’s fault. The service wasn’t offensive, but they definitely seemed uninterested. I can only assume they aren’t paid enough, so I don’t blame them.

Honestly I’m not one to complain or write a bad review but I thought how crazy this is, I work at a food restaurant myself and I even asked the guy if this is how really it’s supposed to be and said yes. Today I came by and spent $26 dollars on just two meals. And this is what I got, I got two taquitos one chicken and one beef. The chicken one looked alright while the beef one was so dried up it looked like it had been carried over from last shift, an $9 dollar meal shouldn’t be %50 dry and old and staffing not acknowledge the problem, I asked for a replacement and I could tell the entire kitchen felt offended and they should feel more embarrassed instead. This place has so much potential yet people wanna just get payed for standing around and still complain. If you don’t wanna be there, don’t be there. Simple, move on and stop ruining this business even more.

Didn’t receive my deserts we paid for. I order the mexi dip and chip every time I go to taco bueno. This time the portion sizes were not even half the cup size. My cheese sauce was pretty much empty

WOW… we’ve been to this one multiple times and it was really good, great service and most of all it WAS clean. Now it’s disgusting!!!! NO TABLES WERE CLEAN, the 2 staff that were there were outside when we arrived inside. Food ALL over the floor under the tables, the sauce station was a dirty filthy mess!! Not 1 napkin to be found and the bathroom… trash cans over flowing in the men’s and women’s and my son said there was trash all over the men’s bathroom floor INCLUDING A BLOODY BAND-AID!! . THIS PLACE NEEDS A HEALTH INSPECTION STAT (NOW)!!! Absolutely disgusting! We were there at 3:30p and there were no cars in the drive-thru and 3 customers inside. Plenty of time to CLEAN up the tables and floor but instead the staff was standing out back.

EDIT: We ordered a bueno burger no lettuce. It only had a tiny bit of cheese, no meat. We ordered Mexi dips & chips with extra queso. We got empt shells with no guacamole. So disappointed.
Restaurant was very clean. The staff were all very busy with the drive through. I chose to eat inside. The food was delicious and fast. The staff were all very nice.
