Well today was expecting table service (like previous restaurant) but not, had to order at counter, menu had no prices, had to break my neck reading prices from menu on the high wall. Table had no place settings and get forks and napkins from the bar. No bartender to order alcohol only soft drinks, it was 1:30p… two margaritas would of been ordered. Fish tacos just okay not much flavor. My chicken tacos were chunky firm and chewy chewy and chewy. BUT the red mole sauce was excellent ! Men’s restroom had no paper towels and broken door on stall. Salsa bar very good. As I finished my last bite the bartender arrived…too late. The young man that took our order was friendly.
Total $44 for two two-taco lunches, yikes. Not coming back.
The previous Mexican restaurant Mia Ranchito was 5*.

These guys don’t get enough love. There aren’t too many places in Durango where you can get two entrees for $25 or less anymore. I always get the taco salad because they actually fill it with a good amount of fresh shredded chicken breast. Nothing is ever over salted and there’s a little salsa bar with rajas, limes and sliced cucumber to go with your meal. The cooking staff always have their hair tied back, gloves and aprons on. It’s always clean. Often I get Mexican food and my stomach will be upset within the hour from too much oil or spice. Not so here. My partner is Mexican and really liked the fajita burrito because its actually filled with steak and veggies,m and not filler like rice and beans. Weekends the offer a traditional tripe soup.

Haven’t been to this place in a while! I had an appt at Mercy around 5 so I told my husband it was really good,. When we arrived couldn’t find a clean table, no lights on, ordered meals with beans and rice. The boy didn’t tell us there were no beans. Food arrived with 2 servings of rice. Fish fried to a crisp as was the carne asada. Never going back. I know good Mexican food!

I visited Taco Boy Durango back in March! Catching up on all my reviews!! I visited TBD with 30+ students and adults. The TBD team was so patient and provided excellent service to our group. My husband ordered a torta and he couldn’t stop recommending it to the other people in our group that hadn’t ordered yet! I ordered the Taco Boy Burrito Bowl with ground beef and it was very good. It was our group’s first time stopping at this restaurant, as we take a group skiing every year over our students’ spring break. I’m optimistic we’ll be back! Thank you, Taco Boy Durango!!

I am highly disappointed. It was $80 for four people. First of all, which is outrageous now it wouldn’t have been so bad if the food was good, but the rice and beans were horrible. Our tacos were cold. I couldn’t even eat the rice and beans. They were so bad. The rice was bland, and didn’t have no flavor and the beans had too much spices in them not spicy like hot like Fuego but spicy like too many weird spices I’ll never go there again.

I used to like taco boy, came here during my last child’s birth and it was fantastic. Today however was very disappointing. I ordered a ground beef enchiladas, very simple ground beef, tortilla, cheese, and red or green sauce… instead I got 2 veggie enchiladas… with maybe a pinch of shredded flavorless crap beef…. how in God’s green earth could someone mess up something so simple. Absolute let down do not go cannot recommend

Friendly folks, quick service, hot and fresh food. Expansive, traditional salsa bar. The special of the day (beef chimichanga) was delicious! Refried beans have just an enough flavor to be distinctly better. I will happily come back.

I ordered the 2 chicken tacos plate. The shredded chicken was mole (red) and it was phenomenal! Beans and rice on the side were fantastic as well.

Burrito was mostly tortilla, had very little carne asada in it and it was REALLY small. Got 3 super nachos which were also irritatingly skimpy. The little meat that was on them was burnt on one side and other toppings were minimal…nearly plain chips aside from sour cream. Not our first visit so we were super disappointed and surprised at what we received tonight.

My breakfast burrito was super dry. The staff was ok. Not friendly but not hateful. It was just ok.
