Don’t get me wrong, I love authentic Mexican food. I actively seek it out. But I also have a very real soft spot for Taco Bell. It’s my favorite junk food and I’m not pretending otherwise.

I’m honestly confused by some of the negative reviews. It’s Taco Bell, not a Michelin-starred restaurant. If you’re expecting fine dining, that’s on you.

I always opt out of online ordering because Taco Bell should be eaten hot. Obviously it’s not “fresh” in that way, but there’s nothing worse than cold Taco Bell. Eat it while it’s hot and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

I also appreciate a good drive-thru, and Taco Bell nails that convenience. Before you leave, always check your order. It’s that simple. Employees are human and mistakes happen. It’s really not that deep, and it’s an easy fix if you catch it on the spot.

My order is simple and consistent: a bean and cheese burrito, a crunchy beef taco, and a Diet Coke. I still miss the chili cheese burrito and the ranch taco, gone but not forgotten.

Taco Bell knows exactly what it is. If you’re in the mood for nostalgic, no-frills comfort junk food, it delivers every time. Just manage your expectations and enjoy it for what it is.

They suck. They get orders wrong. I waited a long time for Uber eats to pick up from them. Instead of black bean crunch wrap supreme they gave me beef. I don’t eat meat. They also bizarrely gave me a chicken quesadilla. No nacho fries even though I got the sauces for them. Uber eats only let me refund one item. Still hungry and also angry. Just make a whole new team for this location honestly.

Don’t bother. It’s 12/25 7pm and the crew at this Taco Bell are completely incompetent. Asked for nachos no tomatoes and received a tiny scoop of meat and beans the rest was chips. I could have just eaten chips out of my cupboard! Asked for no tomatoes on my taco… received tomatos. And my taco had 2 pieces of cheese! May sound trivial but I don’t appreciate paying $25+ for food that is unacceptable. The crew they had around 6 months ago with an intelligent, polite young man was so much better than this crew now. Like I said, don’t bother. You’ll just be disappointed.

Ordered a crunch wrap and paid extra to have pico de gallo added, received a crunch wrap that was literally only beans and lettuce, it didn’t even have the regular tomatoes. This location is consistently bad at making sure orders have even the standard toppings forget it if you want something extra added.

If you are a gluten-free vegan, you can order a corn shell and get beans, veggies, jalapeños, and guacamole. There’s also unsweetened iced tea for those who are health-conscious.

It’s a nice looking upgrade, but I experienced a rude girl here when I explained my order (Spicy Cheesy Double Beef Burrito sub with black beans, add pizza sauce) was wrong.

They made it with beef and not spicy, with no jalapenos as shown in the pic on the self serve kiosk. I brought this to her attention in an even tone. She said, “Well first of all, we don’t even have pizza sauce.” I showed her my order on the phone and she took my phone away to the back. Ok.

When she came back after 5 min I got my phone. Guy at front said he didn’t even know that item was on the menu. He said, “We have jalapeno sauce.” I had to show my pic on the phone to prove yes, it’s there and has jalapenos….

When I got my fixed order, they still didn’t make it with jalapenos, despite my showing the order on my phone to the girl who ferried it off to the back office and then food line.

Had to wait some more at counter, then ask for jalapenos. Put them on myself when they gave them in a 2oz cup. Noticed the double beef (that I swapped to double black bean) was a measly scoop of beans.

I asked for a cup of black beans to get the double product they advertised. Guy argued with me some more and said, “They did what they’re supposed to, they did 2 scoops.” It wasn’t 2 scoops, you could fit those beans in the palm of a 5-year-old’s hand.

When they gave me the 2oz cup of beans I paid for, guy said, “This is only gonna be a one time thing.” They offered me a coupon for a meat product. Lol. I was calm the entire time and even made conversation as I waited. Clearly the issue is employee disposition.

Overall the music and appearance of the new upgraded location are awesome, but the service is bad. I regularly frequented this place last year, multiple times a week.

Arguing with customer is a no.
Taking customer’s phone is a no.
Making order wrong and then the remake wrong is a no.

It’s ok, Trader Joe’s has good lunches and is healthier. I think I’ll email this review somewhere and see what happens, for fun. I know it’s just a Taco Bell but yikes. They’ve gotten my order wrong before too. The morning crew one time apparently lied and said the self serve kiosk didn’t send my order to them and made me wait for 10-15 min. Was 2 things.

I don’t recommend this place at all, for anyone, and wish other fast food chains had vegan options. Sadly we’re not there yet. This place will waste your time. Go support a family business.

I frequent this location often because it’s close to where I live. That said, if you have the ability to go to any other Taco Bell in Ventura, I recommend you do so. This taco Bell pretty consistently underperforms, has stale ingredients, doesn’t give good portion sizes, and makes errors on orders. The thing that got them the one star review, though recently, was a piece of plastic inside a burrito (see photo). This was a to-go order, what are you gonna do? Just avoid this Taco Bell.
