This Taco Bell used to be my favorite for late night food when my husband used to be on second shift. He moved to first for a while so we didn’t eat there a ton as there were other options but recently he went back to second shift. When I say this Taco Bell is the worst most incompetent crew I’ve ever had to deal with I mean they can’t even handle the most basic order. We did an online order recently that was a two box deals. Nothing special. We pull up after waiting 45 mins in line they rudely just say “what” when we pull up to the speaker. I tell them we have a mobile order and she tells me the fryer is off for the night and they can’t make the chalupa or fries from our order (both boxes had them) I asked if there was any substitution and she said no you ordered online I can give you an unfried chalupa. Yall this chalupa was the saddest thing I’ve ever attempted to eat. It was cold barely any toppings and tasted stale. I took one bite and spit it out. We’ve tried multiple times to give them another chance telling ourselves maybe it was just an off night, but every time has been terrible and a waste of money. I wish Dubuque had more late night options for the folks who don’t work an average work schedule.

The restaurant is always dirty. Worse than most fast food places in town.
Employees are always loudly playing explicitly music and using vulgar language.
They also seem very lazy sitting around talking not doing much when the place is gross. My buddy tried placing an order once and the lazy employee just told him to do it himself and gestured at the gross touch screens that never get cleaned…. he was paying cash…. that’s why he went to order at the register.
Last few times I’ve been the food has been subpar, even for taco bells standards.
No more breakfast at this location, so much for a quick stop for the cross state morning commute.
Both the website and google both say the location is open until 3 am, yet when I try to place an order it tells me the store is closing soon.
And this is why I’ve just started making taco bell staples at home…

We pulled into the Taco Bell drive-thru, just a normal stop to grab food for the family. I was looking over the menu like any normal customer, because let’s be honest, half the time you don’t know what you want until you see it.
I couldn’t find the item I wanted, so I asked the guy at the speaker if they still had it. He said yes, so I added it to the order. Then I started adding two more things for my kids. If you’ve ever ordered for kids, you know it’s chaos. Opinions flying, last-minute changes, and “Wait, I want that instead.” It’s real life.
Then my wife realized she forgot something for their orders. I told the guy to give me another second. And that’s when it happened. He sighed, loud enough to hear, and said, “Well, you’ve already taken four minutes of my time.”
Four minutes. At a drive-thru.
For a second I thought he was joking. But he wasn’t. I asked him why that mattered, and he said he was the manager, and that Taco Bell tracks and reports how long each customer takes at the speaker.
So that’s the game now. Not food. Not service. Just a timer ticking somewhere on a spreadsheet.
My wife didn’t even want to finish the order after that. I paid for the kids’ food because I didn’t want to take it out on the crew, but that was it for us.
We drove off and went to Burger King instead. They smiled, took their time with us, and treated us like people, not stopwatches.
Taco Bell, if your managers are being trained to rush families in the name of efficiency, you’ve lost something bigger than time. You’ve lost touch with what hospitality means. You’ve lost customers who actually cared. And that’s not a timer you can reset.

Took an hr for my food to get made when I placed an order online… My poor door dasher sat there and waited for at least 25 min. Love the tracking system, but I’m definitely not ordering from this location again. For a place that has to rehydrated majority of its food… Not even making anything from scratch I can’t understand why it would be necessary to take an hr to complete an order… Disappointing and comical timing for a place that calls the self “fast” food.

Burnt chicken nuggets, lack of service and attention to their register and went to order something else online and was told to wait 15 minutes with no one else there and other people came by and got told the same thing, so they left mad, and I cancelled my online order and went somewhere else and will never come back here. It seemed like it was just late and they didn’t want to make the food. If you don’t want to do the job, then you shouldn’t be working here…

If you hate your job just say so.

I’ll keep this real simple, as I never write reviews. My wife and I went through the drive through tonight and ordered a couple regular steak grilled cheese burritos, along with a couple other items. When we got our food, our first bite into those burritos showed us that they had given us their new flaming hot grilled cheese burritos, which we did not order. Went back around to get a replacement for them. They were very nice and understanding. Gave us two new burritos without questions. Come to find out they were two more of the flaming hot burritos. The workers/cooks at this Taco Bell have shown an immense lack of care for others and their job and they just lost this location 2 customers.

The food was great. The place was filthy. The staff weren’t busy there were 4 people in the building. No toilet paper in womens and mens restroom. They did have paper towels in there. So that wasn’t on the staff but management. Also on management is their filthy restaurant. I had to ask for a disinfectant washcloth for our table. The kid handed to me to use and sadly didnt know enough to go clean the table for us. Normally my husband tells me to not be a Karen. But he even said if he was the owner of this restaurant he would be ashamed. He never complains.

The food is generally always fine. I’ve really never had any complaints. I mean it is what it is. I was raised in Monterey, Mexico. Lived there 8 years. Now that’s Mexican food. But I know going in that Taco Bell is nothing like what I was raised on and I accept that. TB is nothing to rant and rave about. I’m certainly no shouting any accolades from my roof top. Their Guacamole isn’t half bad. Their Refried beans R fine…better than Taco John’s by far. I love their chalupas and their nacho cheese hard tortilla shells. I really wish they’d get their salsa verde packets back in that were not as spicy as what they offer now. I usually add a bunch of extra items 2 my champagne. That really raises the cost up in a hurry. I think that the prices that they charge 4 their extra ingredients is a bit much. I usually get sour cream, onions, black beans and Guacamole. For the small amount that is actually used on a taco or chalupa, the cost is is definitely a rip off. I suppose that I could out all that on myself at home. But then that tends 2 negate the whole idea of going out and grabbing fast food in my opinion. Not 2 mention the mess a person tends 2 make when they have a tear something already made apart just 2 add something more at home. Not worth the headache, hassle, mess and inconvenience in my mind. I’ll just pay the extra $$ instead. My husband and son absolutely love their apple empanadas. And my son and I literally can’t get enough of their mango tea!! It’s absolutely delicious as is, but really refreshing thrown in the blender with crushed ice and made in to a smoothie with either canned or fresh mango thrown in there as well. We’ve even made a dessert out of it by adding vanilla ice cream or daiquiri Sherbet in with the smoothie. Their help is generally decent considering the pay. Always polite, courteous and helpful.
