Reviews
Since the new Taco Bell was built on 7th Street, this one doesn’t even try to keep up appearances and it’s disgusting. I’m finally ready to give this place a complete review.
THE DRINK MACHINE AREA: [F-]
Let’s start with the drink machine, because it’s the photos I uploaded. I can’t remember the last time I saw this machine clean. Maybe 3-4 years ago? I’m not expecting it to be spotless, I’m reasonable, I used to work fast food, I get the place can be busy. That is no excuse for something to be this disgusting. If it’s broken a bit and needing fixed, is been neglected for MONTHS. It smells like MOLD or MILDEW. The carpet on the floor near it is STICKY and STINKS. I didn’t even get a picture of the 6 “Wet Floor” signs they have around it.
SUMMARY: The most blatantly obvious sign of this place’s decline and lack of effort. I requested my drink from the drive thru but have no idea if it was any cleaner.
THE BATHROOMS: [F-]
Next, the bathroom, because they’re always in about the same state of gross. I wouldn’t use their bathrooms if someone paid me to. They look like they’re maybe cleaned once a week, if even that often. I didn’t want to post any photos due to just how nasty they are.
SUMMARY: I’d rather use the local Speedway bathroom that’s kept cleaner.
THE DINING AREA: [C]
With the remodel, you’d think this part would pass with flying colors. Sadly, that’s not the case. Yeah all the tables and chairs are brand new, but that doesn’t help much when they’re always dirty, smeared in food, and the floor is sticky. (I’m assuming the last part is from everyone tracking the soda rug filth everywhere.)
SUMMARY: It looks nice at first, but it’s hard finding the one clean table to eat at.
THE DRIVE THRU: [D]
The drive thru seems to be the only part of the restaurant they care about keeping up on. The wait times are decent, compared to most, and they don’t short you on sauces. HOWEVER, they do have some major issues with order accuracy. Usually with leaving out ingredients that you pay extra for. Since Taco Bell has decided to even start charging for even onions, something that’s been free for years, this makes it VERY frustrating and time consuming to go back through for corrections. Most of the time it’s easier to just eat the loss and not bother, but all that adds up. If they DO remember to add things, like potatoes, they’re usually not fresh which makes the food taste like it’s gone STALE. Gross.
SUMMARY: Inaccuracies either eat up your time or your money, pick one. Stale ingredients should be thrown out on time, not used for drive thru orders.
THE STAFF: [C]
I’m have mixed feelings here. On one hand, they could be just following instructions. They’re mostly pleasant to talk to and interact with. They appear like they’re doing their best, and I know from experience how that can be. On the other, they could be purposefully neglecting their duties and are being allowed to let the place slide due to poor management. Can’t really know one way or the other. Either way, all the other issues plus their consistently young age, give them the stereotypic appearance of clueless teenagers that don’t know what they’re doing. What IS certain is the management has allowed their restaurant to exist in a disgusting state that they should be ashamed of. I’m dropping the majority of the fault on their shoulders. They need to do better.
SUMMARY: Hard to pin what’s happening on staff. Who can tell if the normal staff are pulling their weight or not. Management, either store level or district, are clearly letting this place decay into irrelevance.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Honestly, this will be the last time I come here unless I’m absolutely forced to for the sake of time. The other 3 locations nearby are simply better in every way. Why would I want to subject myself to a crappy dining experience when I can just go the new 7th St location?
Do better.
The tortillas are obviously smaller than way back when, and you can’t even fill the smaller size?
