The Star of the Show: Beet Taco Shells
One of the most unique features of Taco Amor is their homemade beet-infused taco shells.
The Vibe: These vibrant, naturally red shells aren’t just for “the gram”—they add a subtle, earthy sweetness that pairs perfectly with savory fillings.
The Texture: Unlike standard store-bought shells, these are fresh and handcrafted, offering a unique texture that sets their tacos apart from every other taqueria in the area.
Beyond the famous beet shells, the menu is rooted in family recipes and high-quality ingredients:
Quesabirria: Frequently cited by locals as some of the best in the Chicago suburbs, served with a rich, flavorful consomé. They lots more awesome dishes.
Located at 8420 Brookfield Ave (right near the Hollywood/Zoo Metra stop), the restaurant feels like an extension of Sal and Juan’s home.
Family-Owned: You can feel the “Amor” in the service. The owners are often on-site, ensuring every guest is treated like family.
The Space: It’s cozy, colorful, and has a “neighborhood spot” energy that makes it great for a quick lunch or a relaxed family dinner.
I had a minor issue with my order today, but the manager was sure to take care of me. He kindly and patiently guided me on how to not have that issue again.
I am super grateful for such excellent service and delicious food. Plus I love that they are local to my home town! I will absolutely be back and highly recommend you trying them too.
Easily the best quesabirria I’ve ever had. Rice and beans were great. Steak burrito was massive and also phenomenal. Great vibe and a cute decor!
The asada and the Quesabirria dinner are some of the highlights – generous portions of tender meat, fresh ingredients, and the perfect balance of flavors. The rice and beans are light and perfectly cooked, and the guacamole adds a nice fresh touch to every meal.
Taquero Mucho is definitely worth the visit. The food is flavorful, satisfying, and the portions are more than enough for a hearty meal. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for authentic Mexican food with a friendly atmosphere!
