Unfortunately this was just not good quality food. We got two sushi rolls and gyoza, and one of the rolls and the gyoza were inedible. On the 49er roll the imitation crab clumped together and was very chewy, and the gyoza meat felt like chewing a worm. The one good roll was Steve’s machi roll which had a good flavor and no chewiness. We aren’t super picky or sushi snobs, this just really missed the mark.

We’ve eaten here before and always liked the food, but today’s experience was very uncomfortable.
The male owner clearly did not want us to bring in our stroller and told us we could not have two high chairs for our toddler and baby without any reasons, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We offered to put the stroller away and rearrange chairs, he still warned us that if we came back in the future, we would not be allowed to bring a stroller at all.
We were not in anyone’s way, (only two tables were occupied in the entire restaurant) yet we felt unwelcome simply because we came with young children.
If you have a toddler or a baby—especially if you need to bring a stroller—please be aware that this restaurant is not family-friendly and the owner does not welcome strollers. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Great food, and great service. I love that they don’t hover over your table, only the interactions necessary. The only thing is it’s a bit cold inside, but just bring a sweater and you’re good. I’ve been eating here for about 20 years and I’ve never been disappointed. My family has been eating here since they opened and will forever continue <3

Love, love, love this place. They have the freshest sushi in Concord. Clean and service is friendly. I typically go at lunch and take my time, enjoying my meal. Not pushy to get you to leave. Reasonable prices too.

I’ve enjoyed this spot before, but on my recent visit, the sushi didn’t quite meet expectations. I tried the California roll and the tempura roll—both were a bit lacking in flavor and not quite as fresh as usual. It just didn’t feel authentic enough compared to other sushi places. Hoping it was just an off day, and looking forward to giving it another try.

Pleasant surprise…had never been there before and did not know what to expect. Very clean, service was great, food was excellent, especially the tempura. Definitely would go there if we lived closer. Maybe one day again when in the area.
