Absolutely outstanding. Table du Marché is the kind of neighbourhood restaurant that reminds you why dining out can still feel special.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between cosy and refined—warm, intimate, and effortlessly French. The service is exemplary: attentive without being intrusive, genuinely knowledgeable, and delivered with a relaxed confidence that immediately puts you at ease.

The food is where this place truly shines. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, rooted in classic French technique but executed with freshness and precision. Flavours are bold yet elegant, portions are generous without being heavy, and the quality of ingredients is unmistakable. Each course arrives beautifully presented, and it’s clear that real care and pride go into every plate. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked main or a dessert that lingers in your memory long after the last bite, everything feels spot-on.

Add to that a well-curated wine list that complements the menu beautifully, and you have a dining experience that feels both indulgent and comforting.

In short, Table du Marché is a gem—reliably excellent, deeply satisfying, and the kind of place you want to return to again and again. A true local treasure and easily one of the best French dining experiences in London.

Aziza and Melvin were amazing! Both were super friendly, patient, and made us feel really comfortable. They checked in at the right times, explained things clearly, and always had a smile. The service felt easy and warm, not rushed at all. They honestly made the whole experience better. Melvin’s wine pairing was spot on and made the meal even better. Big thanks to both of them — great team!

Went there last night for the 1st time with my cousin, to celebrate my birthday and we’re so glad that we did. The food, from starters to dessert was amazing & the service was impeccable. They bent over backwards to please us and even made cocktails for me, that were not on the menu. I highly recommend the Escargots, Duck, Pomme Dauphinoise, Sea Bass & Tarte Tatin for dessert. The staff were lovely and I will definitely be returning. It was a perfect birthday experience, that I will treasure.

Came here for Lunch.

They have a good prix fixe menu available for lunch. We went on a Saturday.

Starters and mains were good and have a nice variety of options.

The service was good.

The desserts however weren’t great for me. 2 from 4 had marzipan in it which I didn’t like.

But overall good value and good food

An excellent restaurant, one of my favourites in Finchley and even all of London. I’ve been here for two of my birthdays and several other special occasions. I often have the moules et frites which are as good as the best I’ve had when in France.

Had a really lovely meal at Table Du Marché in Finchley. Wife had Honey roast beetroot with Roquefort cheese, walnuts and cauliflower to start while I enjoyed scallops, pancetta for starters then she had seabass and I tucked into duck breast. Finally we had a lovely apple sablé with salted caramel ice cream. Truly a gorgeous meal and served by nice friendly staff. Restaurant decor was pleasant and fairly quiet but it is a Sunday. Everything was extremely tasty and nothing was left behind. Deffo a great find and highly recommended

We booked a month in advance for christmas day dinner – the 5pm sitting
Here’s our experience: We arrived at 5pm to find a queue of people standing outside in the freezing cold . We the customers booked for the 5pm serving were told we had to wait outside until the 3pm sittings were finished and out the door. No one came out to say Welcome, Merry Christmas or sorry to keep you waiting outdoors! Nada. When we were finally allowed in after 15 minutes (!!)) it was utter chaos. We had to continue standing inside cramped and in the aisle where waiters ran around in a frantic scramble to get to the tables. As we continued to wait there seemed to be no one in charge . No one said to us eg “ welcome, merry christmas, sorry for the wait , have a glass of wine “
Instead the staff behaved as if they were the victims of a situation they could not cope with. Zero grace, hospitality, charm, or proper treatment . After being kept standing we were shown our table for 2 – in the middle of the foot traffic at the bar with all the trays and glasses over our heads. We said we wanted another table and they just left us standing – punishing us for not accepting their awful table, They were totally out of their depth , terribly organised and had zero customer service etiquette. We finally walked out rather than spend any money at such an inept, graceless place! The worst Christmas dinner reservation ever! Will never go back!

Don’t get me wrong this is the best restaurant in East Finchley. But…

My sister got me a £50 gift voucher for this restaurant. I went with my girlfriend to redeem it and they initially said they aren’t honouring gift vouchers because people have been printing fakes.

I pointed out this could be easily prevented by keeping a log of gift vouchers issued and ticking them off as they are redeemed.

Anyway, after passing the trustability test we were allowed to redeem the voucher.

The food was excellent and service good.

I went to pay the £88 bill (less gift voucher) and opted not to tip on the card machine due to gift voucher redemption reluctance.

The waiter then gave the snarky comment “It’s not included but never mind it’s fine”, in reference to not tipping.

Firstly, waiters have no idea the personal circumstances of customers. Deliberately making the customer feel bad is terrible.

Secondly, the French invented the service charge. If they want to expect tips, then just add it to the bill – no more snarky comments needed!

So the comment basically ruined the otherwise pleasant experience and will now make me very reluctant to return despite living very close by and it being nice.
