Reviews
The menu prices online did not match what was presented at the table, which felt misleading. We ordered the Parada Biryani, Dhaba Style Chicken with Rumali Roti, and two cocktails. The Parada Biryani looked impressive, but the flavor was off, the chicken was rubbery, and there was only food color and no aroma. The Raitha is not a Raitha it us a sour cream with mint flavor. The Dhaba Style Chicken was just two drumsticks in a basic onion-tomato gravy. Overall, this is not authentic Indian food neither North nor South.
The cocktails were underwhelming. The Tabla Martini ($20) lacked the promised coconut flavor, and honest feedback was met with no replacement or gesture. The Spicy Pink Mirage was a bummer and the waiter repeatedly asked to remove our plates while we were still eating.
Given the pricing, this visit did not meet expectations. I do not recommend this place if you want to enjoy the Indian food . Please don’t get misleading by pictures and any insta reels.

Located in the heart of Atlanta, Tabla is a standout destination for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine with a modern twist. Known for both its flavorful dishes and its elegant yet inviting atmosphere, Tabla has earned a strong reputation among locals and visitors alike as a top choice for Indian dining in the entire city.
Tabla’s menu celebrates the rich diversity of Indian cuisine, offering everything from beloved classics like chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and lamb rogan josh to inventive house specials that blend traditional spices with contemporary presentation. Guests often praise the perfectly baked garlic naan, aromatic biryanis, and rich curries that are seasoned with depth and balance. Vegetarian and vegan options are also well-represented, making it a great choice for groups with varied dietary preferences.
Beyond the food, the restaurant’s ambiance elevates the dining experience. The interior strikes a balance between stylish and comfortable — ideal for date nights, family dinners, or business meals. Many diners highlight the attentive service and the thoughtfully curated cocktail and beverage offerings that pair beautifully with Indian spices.
Reviews from food guides and customer feedback consistently place Tabla among Atlanta’s best Indian restaurants, with standout dishes like biryani and kofta earning particular acclaim. While some may find it a bit pricier than other Indian eateries, most agree that the quality of the food, presentation, and overall experience make it worth it.
If you’re looking for a memorable Indian meal in Atlanta — where classic flavors meet creative culinary flair — Tabla delivers one of the most satisfying experiences in the city.
Anup, the manager, is hands down one of the best. He really knows his stuff, especially when it comes to the menu and the liquor selection. You can tell he takes pride in what he does and makes sure every guest is taken care of.
From the service to the food to the overall experience, everything here is just done right. Easily one of my favorite Indian restaurants. Highly recommend.
A Truly Upscale and Spotless Dining Experience
Tabla offers a distinctive and highly satisfying upscale Indian dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is sophisticated and chic, featuring an elegant dining hall that makes it perfect for a celebratory dinner or a stylish evening out.
The kitchen truly excels, especially in its handling of non-meat dishes. As a vegetarian diner, I found the options to be exceptional. Every dish was prepared with a clear commitment to quality ingredients, resulting in food that was very good and consistently tasty. The flavors are both authentic and thoughtfully modernized, providing a memorable culinary journey that highlights the best of Indian cuisine.
A major highlight is the fantastic in-house bar, which elevates the entire experience. It’s an ideal place to start or end your evening, offering a selection of creative, spice-infused cocktails that perfectly complement the meal to come. The chic bar area adds a touch of vibrancy and makes the restaurant a complete social destination.
Beyond the stellar food and ambiance, the establishment maintains high standards for cleanliness and presentation. The service was professional, and we were particularly pleased that the washroom facilities were well-maintained—a small but crucial detail that underscores the management’s attention to overall guest comfort.
The one factor to consider is the cost: the menu is positioned a little on the higher side, making it a premium choice. However, when factoring in the outstanding quality of the food, the sophisticated environment, the excellent bar, and the meticulous maintenance, the value proposition holds strong. For anyone seeking a top-tier, flavorful, and impeccably clean dining experience, this restaurant is highly recommended.
Must Try:
Achari Baingan – Full of tangy, spicy pickle flavors with perfectly cooked brinjal.
Rumali Roti – Soft, thin, and freshly made, which pairs perfectly with the curry.
If you are looking for an elevated Indian dining experience in Atlanta, Tabla is an absolute must-visit. While the price point leans toward the expensive side, the quality of the ingredients and the complexity of the flavors make it worth every penny. This isn’t just another curry house; it is a sophisticated exploration of the subcontinent’s vast culinary landscape.
The Starters & Chaat
We began our meal with a selection of chaat and appetizers, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The balance of tangy tamarind, spicy mint chutney, and the crunch of the savories created a perfect symphony of textures. It is rare to find a fine-dining establishment that treats street-food-inspired dishes with such elegance and precision.
A Journey Across India
What truly sets Tabla apart is its curated menu. Instead of sticking to the standard North Indian staples found everywhere else, they offer a diverse selection of food from across India. This regional variety allows you to taste the nuances of different cultures and cooking styles in one sitting. Every dish felt intentional, authentic, and bursting with vibrant, layered spices that linger on the palate.
The Grand Finale: Desserts
Whatever you do, make sure you save room for dessert. We tried the Khubani ka Meetha and the Kulfi, and they were truly out of this world. The Khubani ka Meetha (an apricot-based delicacy) was rich and perfectly sweetened, while the Kulfi provided that dense, creamy, and traditional finish that only a high-end kitchen can master.
The Atmosphere & Verdict
The ambiance matches the “fine dining” label; it’s chic, modern, and perfect for a special occasion or a sophisticated date night. Yes, the meal was quite expensive, but for the level of service and the unique regional variety they offer, it is a justified splurge.
I would highly recommend this place to any Indian food lover looking for something beyond the ordinary. It’s a beautiful representation of how vibrant and diverse Indian cuisine can be. I will definitely be returning to see what other regions of India I can “visit” through their menu!
Went to Tabla for my birthday as it was a restaurant I frequently walked by when in midtown. The aroma always smelled pleasant, hence me trying it.
However, when I went in the menu was overpriced and contained daal dishes for over 15 $ and I decided to shy away from those for the value.
The menu at the time had listed duck as options for appetizer and entrees but the waiter informed that they were out of stock and moving away from making duck preparations at the restaurant. I thought it was interesting having an Indian restaurant prepared duck, so my excitement quickly died down. Also I thought it was odd that as an establishment, if they decided to remove the duck from the menu, that they should have given an updated menu , so that customers would not get a false hope.
The fish tasted plain, and the saag paneer was under seasoned as well.
The biryani at first seemed enticing due to having the traditional dough covering to seal in flavor, but upon biting into it , the flavor was underwhelming. I’ve had biryanis from the food sections of supermarkets that I’ve enjoyed much more.
For all the smells of the restaurant, the “fine dining “ experience was not up to par. Next time I want Indian food , I will most likely go to the Decatur areas
The lamb chops were good, and the mango lassi too.
If anything, I was highly disappointed to see that a $7 order of Lacha Paratha only provides one piece of bread. Additionally, our waiter was condescending when we inquired about what select menu items were, which made me feel a bit embarrassed to ask questions.
Overall, though, this is a solid spot to get really nice Indian fare, and I’d be happy to return to try more of their items!
