Reviews
I had the fish and chips, and it was a little wet, and a little undercooked. At a restaurant like this I expect neither of these. The batter was decent, but not particularly flavoured in a way that would cause you to say “that’s good”. The fish was served with a creamy mayonnaise-type dressing that was very lightly flavoured, but didn’t really add to the dish and I ignored it after a couple of bites. The fish was served with just a few chips, and these were tasty.
Our waitress was fabulous, and frankly made our late lunch much better than the food did.
The menu online lists the fish and chips at EUR 15, but the menu at the table is EUR 24. Having an out of date menu online is not acceptable.
We asked the waitress if she had a candle, since it was our anniversary, and she said she doesn’t think so but she would figure something out. What she prepared for us was simply beautiful, thank you for making our anniversary special!
The food is spectacular. We tried 5 different dishes and all were creative and cooked to perfection. For food restrictions we were offered a great alternative.
Service was fast, knowledgeable and very friendly. We got good recommendations.
The atmosphere is well thought through. The mix of dark and mat finishing on the walls, fabrics and wood plays perfectly with the table settings. It’s cozy, calm and modern at the same time.
We ordered as follows: sopa de tomate con sandia y pesto And the Piquillos rellenos de ensaladilla. The soup was out of this world good, balanced sweet and sour with the hit of basil and the refreshment of the watermelon. The chillies were beautifully simple and delicious stuffed with the standard Russian salad but very high quality.
Next we had: pollo frito del chef con cebolla al habenera – Crunchy, spicy, zingy softened with buttery mashed potatoes. Paced del dia which was Salmon meunière served with a fresh couscous salad. The salmon was perfectly just cooked, moist with a lovely crust on top.
We closed with the tarta de queso and the sorbete de pina y coco.
It was a cut above the usual and lovely lunch fare a Salamanca.
