I hope everyone comes here. This place feels so much like my mother’s kitchen. It feels like there’s so much love and care taken in comparison of the food. The buss up shut is perfect. The doubles. Excellent texture the sauce. Everything delicious. I also had the goat which was falling off the bone. Delicious. The dahl oh my gosh the roasted garlic alone come through suburb. This place is a 10 out of 10. The pumpkin everything was so good. This will be the only place I eat whenever I come to pompano Beach again. I’m so glad I was influenced by the IG to come here.

Okay, so I saw this spot on YouTube and it’s 5 min down the street so I said, hey! Let me try it out. I had a goat and shrimp roti. I’m born and raised in the islands so we are going to tell the truth here. If you haven’t had this before you might say it’s very good but I will compare it to Joys restaurant and it’s okay compared to Joys. The shrimp was very good but I’ve had better when it comes to the goat. Now the Mauby and peanut punch were very good. I am going to go back and try the conch and curry chicken roti. I got two drinks and two roti for $48.

This was my first time eating food from Trinidad and what an experience. I was lucky to be invited by friends who ordered and guided us through an array of different dishes and every one was amazing. So many different and unique flavors it was like a party for my pallet. I can’t wait to go back. I loved every aspect of the experience, the music vibe and friendly staff felt like I was eating at a friends home.

Tobanka in North Lauderdale was perfect for Boss’s Day with 3 friends! The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with vibrant flavors. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, with warm service and genuine cultural vibes. A must-visit gem for a delicious, memorable meal! Should have taken the before picture. I am ready for a nap lol

Like many others in these reviews, I saw this restaurant on TikTok and while visiting Fort Lauderdale I figured I’d give it a try vs Joys where we usually go when we are in FL.
The service was great. Everyone is so polite and welcoming – not the typical roti shop experience where the employees are miserable and want to spit in your food because you asked them to do their job. Everyone behind the counter was so pleasant, happy and respectful. Almost like they’re grateful that you’re supporting their business. Super rare.
The doubles were great, 4.2/5. The curry chicken was missing something. Not sure what it was but it just didn’t hit the spot. The buss up shot was a 12/5 – super soft and fresh.
The chowmein wasn’t anything special but overall it was a great experience and I’d recommend trying them out.

I purchased the curry chicken with Roti on the side.
I paid $19 for a half full plate.
I still have left over Roti but no meat or gravy left to eat with.
Food didn’t have much flavor.

Always such a great time when I take my family and friends! The food is so fresh and the ladies are always so sweet and welcoming! My mom’s from Trinidad and she said it reminds her of her own mom’s cooking!

Beautiful and clean restaurant. Service excellent.
Doubles so fresh.
Curry chicken, pumpkin, and rice (not a fan of, but passable)
Altogether, experience was great.

The doubles here is piping hot, tasty and transports you back to Trinidad. It’s as if you’ve having a doubles at the side of the road or something. And….the aloo pies are just as good. I got a curry goat special with paratha to go and sat down for their daily lunch which consisted of white rice, callaloo (which didn’t taste anything like how it’s made in the islands… a huge disappointment ) and stew chicken. This restaurant is beautiful inside, very dark, but cozy and has amazing staff. They are well stocked with drinks, candy and preserves from the Caribbean. My only regret is that I didn’t order a bake and shark… next time for sure…lol

I had an incredible experience at this Trinidad restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, flavorful, and freshly made. I ordered the doubles and chicken roti, and both were outstanding. The doubles were perfectly spiced with soft, warm bara and savory channa, while the chicken roti was hearty, tender, and packed with flavor. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Trini cuisine!
