I was lucky enough to come here on an AYCE Wednesday. It is Basa fish that you can get grilled, blackened or fried. Fried is the most popular option: however, I must say that the blackened seasoning surpassed any expectation I could possibly have coming into this establishment. I was greeted by Gabby who is a great first impression of the restaurant. She was fairly new and did everything possible to answer all of my questions. She was, by far, one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with in quite some time. She explained thoroughly. The food came out hot and fresh. The onion petals were fantastic. Fries were just fries, but they were piping hot so that always makes fries better. There are high top & low top tables but no booths. The signage throughout was a great atmosphere. I spoke with one of the owners, Devin. She was very nice and gladly welcomed me back. I wanted to speak to her to let her know just how wonderful Gabby was as the first face and interaction I had, as this was my first time there. The food is simple & simply good. They do know what they are doing when it comes to their craft. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be treated like family & no, they weren’t family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.

Oh my goodness, this is a must visit Seafood Shack!!!! The food is 5 Star plus! The salmon & shrimp was cooked to perfection! The black beans and rice with sautéed bell peppers and onions were so seasoned and tasty. The plantains tasted like they were cooked and sent from Jamaica. The coleslaw is ridiculously good, I can’t even explain the taste bursting in your mouth!!! The sweet tea reminds me of my mom’s homemade sweet tea!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ You must visit this place. The atmosphere and service were 5 stars!!! I will make this my seafood go too. Mason ensured everything was excellent to order. Again, this is a place you definitely want to visit. ❤️❤️

I had a really great experience here! This restaurant is very clean and inviting. Even the restrooms were very well maintained, stocked, and clean!

We were instantly greeted by a really personable young man named Mason. He was kind to my kids and very knowledgeable. You’d think he owns the place with as much as he knows about the food and menu. He was a great server, as well.

As far as the food goes, the prices were great! We tried the fish dip, mahi tacos, crab cakes, and lobster roll. The kids got chicken tenders and grilled cheese.

The portions were a bit small but for the price and quality – you really can’t beat it! The crab cake was incredible! They also make really good hush puppies and fried okra.

Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely eat here again when we’re in the area!

Good place for delicious seafood. Would like to have a fish option on the platters as I do not eat tilapia. Good amount of blackening seasoning. Fried items were not greasy.

Came here for a quick lunch one day after the gym. Worked out, walked next door, and started ordering some food.

I started off with the Louisiana Style Gumbo (Louisiana-style gumbo with chicken and Andouille Sausage served with saltine crackers. No seafood!)

I guess this item is for people who don’t like seafood. I think those people should please leave the state. But as a dish that can also be eaten by people with seafood allergies, I’m so glad this gumbo was so good, so those people can experience gumbo without danger. A good flavor, a hint of spice, and a base that wasn’t too tomatoey. All good things.

We moved onto the main event, the Fisherman’s Catch Platter (Get ALL 4 of the following: Fish filet (basa), 4 jumbo shrimp, clam strips & 3 fried oysters. Served with cocktail or tartar).

For an all-fried platter, this wasn’t too oily or greasy. It was all well fried, and it also had a great batter-to-protein ratio. Less filler, more seafood. The fish filet was the best part. The basa fish is a type of catfish, so you know it’s good. Shrimp per good, clam strips are always only ok and a good ketchup vehicle, and the oysters were good, but if you don’t like oysters, these won’t change your mind.

And because we’re just greedy, we also got the Gator Swamp Tacos (Local caught gator tacos on flour tortillas over shredded lettuce & tomatoes, topped with a sweet, smoky “swamp sauce”!). How can you say no to swamp sauce?

These were unexpectedly amazing. Nice, big flour tortillas. A metric ton of fried alligator meat. Real good sized hunks of meat, too. Not tiny gator clam strip things. A good little amount of fresh veg. And that creamy, mildly spicy swamp sauce. Man, I could have bought a bottle of that stuff. Very good.

Overall, this place was a very pleasant surprise for me. No way did I think a hole in the wall in landlocked Oviedo would provide me a meal this good. But I was wrong. This place is excellent, and you should come here.

10/10 quick, healthy, delicious lunch – you know it’s good when a bunch of local lunch groups were all here for the taco Tuesday special!

We love TJ’s but the food was off this time around. The clam chowder is usually wonderful and sweet. This time it was just potato soup. The blackened fish was not very blackened either. I will be back and hope this review helps with quality.
Sorry and thank you.

First time here and it was great. The food came out hot. The service was exceptional. It’s not your typical restaurant, you order at the counter and they bring your food, but it comes out hot and with a smile. The staff is very friendly, definitely my new seafood spot. I had the blackened catfish and it was cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy outside and tender inside. Highly recommend.

The Mango Cart draft was nice. The gator bites were tender, but the batter was thick, we could hardly taste what the gator tasted like. The clam strips were in very small pieces, most of the pieces were batter not clam strips, we could not get what the clam strips tasted like. There was no service.
