Big cheesesteaks & hoagies offered in simple, counter-serve quarters with bright graffiti-style art.

One of the best spots in Birmingham. Quality with no fancy frills. It draws a great cross section of folks and many loyal regulars. The great smells hit you as soon as you go through the door and then it only gets better from there. Haven’t had a bad bite to eat there. Staff is always great and welcoming. You get a lot of bang for your buck and can usually get two meals off of one order.

By far one of the worst experience I experience in Birmingham and it’s been plenty. They sell hoagies and by me being from Chicago we sell hoagies and I was expecting what I seen in the pictures and it was something totally different. No oil, no oregano, no red onions just toasted bread and sandwich meat with Mayo, mustard and pickles! They need to do better, if you menu says one thing then that’s exactly what you should sell and if you can’t multi task with other options on your menu then you shouldn’t have it at all!! Bad experience is an experience I don’t want to experience no more so I would never visit this place again!!! First two pictures is what they advertise and say pictures is what I WAS SOLD

This was our 2nd time trying T-Bones and it didnt disappoint! I had the Jerk Chicken sandwich and it was delicious! We tried the Philly cheese steak egg rolls this time too and they are epic! Definitely add those to every order! Loved the sauce it came with to dip them in as well!

I have a great love for philly cheesesteaks, but it’s hard to find the particular style of sandwich I prefer. Not provolone or the original cheeze whiz/cheddar cheese sauce for me. White American cheese, and marinara over the whole thing. And that’s precisely what T-Bones delivers.
Went for lunch on a Saturday and they were fairly busy, but not packed. No nonsense joint, grill open to the dining room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sandwiches are made to order, so took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. Impressively extensive menu beyond the cheesesteaks, too!
Ordered a 6″ pizza steak, 6″ philly cheesesteak with pizza sauce added, and cheese fries. Sandwiches were fantastic; plenty of filling, great quality buns. Cheese fries were solid, with actual cheddar sauce and not nacho cheese. Be advised, they do charge ($.75 in winter 2025) for water.

This place is fire! The Philly sandwiches are the best anywhere in this area, made like a true Philly would be, and they do not skimp on the meat. The portions are huge. Get a full sandwich and it’s easily two meals. Their sandwiches are fantastic as well, and they also make Philly egg rolls which are pretty unique and very tasty! You can’t go wrong here unless you wait until prime dinner hours to get there. Everything is made to order so be prepared to wait for it. It’s worth it!

Returning to T-Bones restaurant on Southside after five years was an absolute joy. Despite the passage of time, the quality of the food and the exceptional customer service remain unchanged. Seeing the owner again after so long was heartwarming. I ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich, and it was just as delicious as I remembered. If you haven’t experienced T-Bones yet, do yourself a favor and make it a priority to visit soon. You won’t regret it!

My mom, sister, and I all ordered 3 different phillies to-go, and we all raved about how bomb it was on our way back to the Shoals! We will definitely be back! I didn’t get fries, but I tried my sister’s spicy fries, they were the best fries I’ve ever had without ketchup. Highly recommend. Casual, local spots like this rarely disappoint!

I was starving this afternoon and we decided it was a job for T-Bone’s. What a great call! I got the Jerk Cheesesteak with spicy fries, and my wife got the Vito Corleone with onion rings. All really tasty, and generous potions. Lots of meat on both sandwiches. The onion rings were solid. The spicy fries were good too, but I hoped they would be a little spicier. Best bang for your buck in Southside.

Place was not welcoming at, and they weren’t even busy! No one spoke, and the owner was taking orders. I was just standing there, and then he says “Im ready! I say “hello how are” and he says “what you want! I ordered 4 items and after every item, he kept saying WHAT ELSE! until I was done! But the food was good! That picture on the Website that has him and that smile! TAKE IT DOWN!!!!

100% recommend! The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was nice. The owner was working right along side everyone and was extremely nice and personable. I got the green pepper Philly, my husband got The Shroom one. We both loved them! We also got the cheddar fries. Very good. I wanted to try the Jerk Chicken just to see what it was like so I ordered a small Jerk chicken, just the meat, with some cheese on it. Seriously SO GOOD! Spicy but not too spicy.
10/10 definitely recommend. We will come back here again when in the area.
