Food was amazing. Egg foo young comes with a sauce that is on the sweet side instead of the Brown gravy I’m used to. Different regions means different flavors, but it was a large, 2 patty serve that made delicious leftovers. I forgot to add how perfect the egg rolls & crab rangoons were cooked. Delicious! Our tea was hot and enough to last the entire meal.

The egg flower soup was barely warm. The spring rolls an orange chicken were okay. But the Kung Pao chicken. The Kung Pao chicken was the worst thing I’ve eaten in a very long time. It did not contain a single vegetable and consisted mostly of deep-fried breaded meat that apparently was chicken. It tasted mostly like burnt grease, the sauce was like a sweet gravy. The hot tea and the fortune cookie was the only enjoyable part.

Stopped into this restaurant while on vacation in Gresham. Immediately, I was surprised by the odd aesthetic of this restaurant. It looks–and smells–like a nursing home recreation room. It just was not a good vibe from the beginning, but I tried to shake it off because what does weird old carpet have to do with food, right?

So I ordered the sesame tofu. I will say, the waitstaff–contrary to the other reviews I have seen–were lovely. And when the meal first arrived, I was pleased with how perfectly cooked the tofu was.

But the sauce….please believe me when I say it was abhorrent.

I do not know if this is how the cook intended for this dish to taste, or if there was an accident, but the experience was not unlike drinking from a hose full of raw vinegar. There was a bit of sweetness, but other than that, it was just sharp and acidic. I made myself eat half of it because I was ravenous, but my taste buds tingled unpleasantly for the next half hour after I left.

Hopefully it was just an off day, or an off dish, but at the very least I would recommend skipping the sesame tofu, if not the restaurant.

We ordered the sweet n sour pork, the five flavor shrimp, and the gluten free orange chicken. The whole meal was delicious. The crab puffs and spring rolls were delicious. Sweet n sour soup was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Great local chinese food. We got the salt and pepper squid (AMAZING), kung pow chicken, and lemon chicken. You need to eat there since the food loses its magic when its put in a box!

Once in a while, we love to order from Szechuan Open Kitchen. Our favorites are the Sashimi Beef and General Tso’s Chicken, and they’re always as good as we remember, with the same great flavors. The service and atmosphere are okay, but the food keeps us coming back!

They had gluten free orange chicken and it was crispy! I’ve missed orange chicken so this was a nice treat. The pork fried rice was good but could used a bit more flavor in the rice, also gf! The egg flower soup was also gf and was great with plenty of flavor.
It’s definitely a hole in the wall joint, but things seemed clean and it was cool on a hot day. Service was a bit slow but not terrible. If I’m in the area again I’d definitely go back.

La la I can’t hear you
Some say this is a great place to eat. While the people are lovely, the food is barely passable as edible. Pork fried rice has zero flavor and the pork is flacid, flavorless, and lifeless. The egg rolls were soggy, the beef on a stick is like eating the sole of a shoe, and the foil wrapped chicken is unmentionable. The best part of dinner was the people and the crab rangoon which is the dame as everywhere else. I will never eat there again.

This has been my Chinese staple for 32 years or more however, this time we were disappointed that the sauces on the dishes ordered seemed to have changed, not for the better. The waitress was very curt about it but immediately switched out the dish for another with no cost to us. The atmosphere seemed dull.

We’ve eaten in this restaurant before in the past and it’s been good but this time we got take out and and what a disappointment!! I don’t know if they have a new chef or just having a really bad night.

We 2 got General Tso’s Chicken, shrimp fried rice, and salt and pepper shrimp. The shrimp friend rice was a joke. I could of made that at home. White rice lookes like they used the frozen mixed vegetables and couple shrimps. And it wasn’t even fried! The rice was still white!!! My husband was so disappointed he said WU’s Restaurant had the best fried rice. This rice was a joke! My daughter and I had the General Tso’s Chicken they put it in a tight container that it made the chicken soggy. All the sauce was on the bottom. And it was very tangy and it wasn’t listed that way on the menu. It had changed from the last time we had had it. So that was a disappointment for us. My daughter came from out of state to have this so she was disappointed. And the salt and pepper shrimp my son in law said he could only taste a lot of salt so he was disappointed. After this experience we won’t be going back. Which is sad because we always had fond memories of this place.
