Mamma Mia!!! This place has some of the best Mopa Tofu I’ve ever had! We had a Birthday party here and had almost everything on the menu and every single plate was delicious – great service too !

We ordered:
– black pepper beef: super tender and flavorful
– grandma’s pork belly: very soft
– green beans: standard, flavorful
– chili wontons: standard, delicious chili oil sauce
– dan dan noodles: the broth confused me but it wasnt bad.
Most dishes can be made no spicy, less spicy, standard spicy. I don’t have a great spice tolerance and could eat everything, but people who liked spicy wanted it spicier.
Food came out pretty fast. We ordered 5 dishes and it was about $110 with tip.

We were there a Friday night around 6pm, and they were not busy we were the only table. The service was super nice and quick. The favorite dish was the house special grilled whole fish. It’s full of flavor and loaded with all kinds of veggies. The spicy dry chili chicken was pretty good except it tasted like no salt was added. We did not like the beef & tripe in chili sauce, tased not fresh. But we still want to come back for the grilled fish and try other dishes.

I’ve been here few times, each time the dishes are perfectly prepared and in good portion. Mapo Tofu is my favorite, they got the ‘ma’ just right – I crave it. Other dishes I recommend are handmade dumpling with chili sauce, and sad jelly noodles. Staff is attentive and warm, family feeling kind of place with clean and pleasant interior. BYOB.

Okay, so I just have to rave about this place I found! It’s a total hidden gem, seriously. The food is incredibly delicious and authentic Sichuan cuisine, which I absolutely love. I highly recommend checking out their mapo tofu and dan dan noodles. Honestly, you won’t be disappointed; it’s a must-try for any foodie!

Just discovered this authentic Szechuan gem in Bridgeport and I’m blown away! The vegetarian dishes were perfectly seasoned with that signature málà spice, the beef was tender and packed with Szechuan peppercorn heat, and the dumplings were clearly handmade with delicate wrappers and flavorful filling. They even offered complimentary items for Duanwu Festival, which was such a thoughtful touch. Located across from the 9th District Police Station on Halsted, this place delivers real Szechuan flavors – not Americanized Chinese food. Service was friendly and the authentic spice levels are on point. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Szechuan cuisine in Chicago!

It was my first time trying Szechuan food, and I’m glad it was here. Portions were very generous where everything came out so quickly. Service was wonderful as well where the interior was well decorated. A must get is definitely their salted egg yolk corn! So crunchy and sweet. The pork bao buns was also really yummy, where I appreciated how tender the pork was.

Incredible food and bold flavors! Every dish was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. Portions were generous, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Easily one of the best Chinese meals I’ve had in Chicago—will definitely be coming back!

Good, but just not good enough to come back. Each dish I tried just wasn’t special. It was mediocre, everything else was sublimed. The tea was generic. The presentation was great though.
Problem-1: Their table layout is horrible. You are inches away from the next table once seated. The server has a horrible time reaching you if are near the windows. Expect to be excused to make waves for the server if you are seated in the middle.
Solution-1: Sit near the back, they won’t change the layout because more tables = more profit since its a smaller restaurant.
Problem-2: When it rains or snows later, prepare to feel very slippery due to the flooring, especially near the back when there’s a lot of grease coming back and forth.
Problem-2: Just be careful!
Update: Just found out we got food poisoning from this restaurant.
