Reviews
We had an incredible dining experience at Szechuan Mirchi Indo-Chinese Cuisine! Every dish was packed with bold flavors and cooked to perfection.
Hot & Sour Soup – Warm, hearty, perfectly balanced with spice and tang. One of the best I’ve had!
Chilli Chicken / Cauliflower – Crispy, spicy, and full of flavor with onions and peppers. Addictive!
Fried & Steamed Momos – Both versions were excellent. Crispy outside or soft and juicy inside—paired with their signature chutney, just WOW!
Fried Rice – Fragrant, not oily, and loaded with veggies and egg—great texture and taste.
Gravy Chicken Dish – Rich, spicy, and comforting. Perfect with steamed rice!
Chilli Sauce on the side – Legit spicy and flavorful, not just heat. A must-try if you love real spice!
The portion sizes were generous, the presentation was appealing, and the flavors reminded me of authentic Indo-Chinese street-style food with a restaurant-quality finish.
The ambiance was cozy, and service was friendly and attentive.
Highly recommend this place if you love bold, spicy, and satisfying Indo-Chinese food. We will definitely be back!
1. Chicken corn soup – Very comforting and good
2. Honey Chilli Potato – Really good, def recommend
3. Chicken Manchurian – Okay, quiet oily
4. Schezuan Egg Fried Rice – Under salted, was okay. Not spicy.
5. Hakka noodles – Again, very average
6. Hot Garlic Chicken (Gravy) – Not spicy, probably need to request, it was okay.
We tried the momos, the soup was great (Chicken manchow) and the lollipops were great. Main course we tried the fried rice (ok) the chicken garlic noodles was great but the schzwan chicken was not that great.
By itself, the food is reasonably good, but tended to be mostly bland by either schezuan or heartland Mirchi standards. This conflict with branding needs to be addressed because their taste lands somewhere in between – at Tiberian plateau level.
Our order was a mixed bag of success.
American Chopsuey was passable (where’s sweet & sour sauce?); Chicken Lollipops just okay, how can someone ruin it; Chili baby corn hit the right notes but just that. Peanut sauce with Fried Momos was going nowhere. Talking about sauces, the red chili sauce & chili-in-oil, that normally elevate chow mein & fried rice, had to be asked for and were completely off-key for everyone in our diverse group.
Only Gobi Manchurian was redemption grade.
Guys, step up, justify your brand.
At some point, well into starters, we had to request water be served. How can someone miss hospitality 101?
Otherwise, dining space is clean, good for large groups, tastefully done and well kept. Service was fast.
There’s parking across the road and for ~12 cars in unmarked adjacent lot. Angled markings in this lot may aid ordered flow.
In our experience, they are more consistent about takeout orders. That’s why we stepped-in for a dine-in experience. The 18% gratuity just did not seem worth it.
So much prime dining space should not be paired with hole-in-wall delivery focus.
The soup was probably the best I’ve ever had in NJ. (Veg Sweet corn)
The Momos filling was finally something I’ve been looking for (but the sauce could’ve been better)
The noodles and Manchurian were not as good as the other food items. The Manchurian sauce was tangy and had some weird smell to it. The noodles were kind of uncooked.
Service was decent – felt it could’ve been more polite and friendly. But it was not bad.
Atmosphere was good, nice warm place, great decor and spacious.
