We settled on the calamari for our appetizer. The calamari was crisp and cooked to perfection. It wasn’t chewy and the dipping sauce was great. The peppers accompanying the calamari gave it a nice little kick.
We then placed out order for the mains. That was a medium 12oz fillet and two medium 14oz ribeyes. For the sides we chose asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese. I also elected to have a Ceaser salad.
The ceaser salad was good not over dressed and the lettuce had a nice crunch to it. It did need a little pepper and salt.
Our steaks soon arrived along with all three sides. My daughter said fillet was a little under but definitely not bad enough to send back. The ribeyes both came out to the temp ordered. The asparagus was tender not over cooked and could hold its shape when picked up with a fork. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. They were more scalloped than mashed but still hit the spot. Cheese and fresh roasted garlic on top saved them. The Mac and cheese was alright nothing too fancy. Going back I would order another side. Aides were enough for the three of us not much left over at all. Definitely not take home box worthy. We did optic for dessert since it was a birthday dinner. We ordered the cheesecake, the lava cake and the carrot cake. The cheese cake was creamy and carried that wonderful cream cheese taste throughout the piece. The carrot cake was delicious although my some wasn’t a fan of the candied carrots that were atop of it. The lava cake kinda fell flat. There wasn’t that gooey center I was expecting. It was just caked all the way through. The scoop of I scream helped but it’s the more expensive of the three somehow. I would not order that one again. The wait staff that waited on us was awesome. When they heard it was my daughter’s birthday they brought out a birthday card signed by the whole staff. I thought that was a great touch!
Not pictured the garlic mashed potatoes, the other ribeye and the fillet.
There was a private party in the room next to our table, which made conversation a bit challenging at times, but the staff did their best to keep the door closed and minimize the noise.
I’ve already recommended this restaurant to friends and family, and we will definitely be returning.
The cocktails were equally impressive – you can tell they take their bar program seriously. From drinks to food, every aspect of our meal was outstanding.
The cozy atmosphere really adds to the experience, making it perfect for a special night out. The service matched the quality of everything else.
Highly recommend Symmetry for anyone looking for an upscale dining experience that delivers on all fronts. We’ll definitely be back!
Dishes tried: Pork chop, Mushroom risotto, duck wings
Highlights: Exceptional food quality, outstanding cocktails, cozy atmosphere
Me at all. The calamari so chewy I am assuming it was frozen as well? Biting. Wrong with that just at an upscale restaurant I would expect better. The fried shrimp absolutely delicious did a great job at them. The Filet was great truffle fries good too generous portions. The drinks were good as well. For the price I kinda expected more in my opinion.
From the outside location at the end of a strip mall you would never think that this level of food was here. This is definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant.
We started with the Korean duck wings which were very delicious and spiced just right. We also had the French onion soup as we have tried it all over the United States and would say top five , the first being Berns in tampa which we frequent very often and the second place being Steak by Gordon Ramsay in Vegas. It’s got a good base for the stock , it’s got some soul to it you could say. might I recommend roasting the steak bones and trimmings with the stock if you don’t already have, maybe some veal stock for depth , and just a touch more seasoning for the initial flavors.
The steak was cooked perfectly and no gristle , just had that right amount of sear char on it and it’s nice they don’t slather the steak in oil like some places do. We ordered the 14oz prime ribeye with nice marbling and very minimal fat globs like you might find in a prime rib roast.
Of course we had to get the bone marrow with the garlic mashed potatoes cause marrow is the meat butter of the culinary world .
All of these things individually would have been manageable, but all of them together unfortunately made our meal an unpleasant experience. We will not be back.
