Book a reservation at Sylva. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is a fantastic staff, amazing menu and beautiful place. Every dish was beautifully executed and delivered more than it promised. The palette on their chef and the flavors their menus bring cannot be missed. I will be back here every time I’m in Tahoe from now on. Trust the chefs at Sylva and the staff will take care of the rest. They do get crowded so please make that reservation ahead of time. My favorite place in Tahoe City, hands down.

Had a good meal at Sylva. We ordered the Bibb lettuce, miso glazed sweet potato, and mortadella pizza – all packed with bold, unique flavors and generous portions. The sweet potato (that chili crunch + cilantro combo) and the pizza were definite standouts. The salad was just a little over-tossed for our taste. The space feels modern and stylish but still warm and welcoming. Overall a fun and flavorful spot.

Sylva is an absolute gem. Just 14 months in, this intimate restaurant has already mastered the art of creating a memorable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, everything was flawless: attentive service, inviting atmosphere, and perfectly curated music that enhanced rather than distracted.

A special note on their accommodation of dietary restrictions: my girlfriend has a unique set of food allergies, and our server had one of their chefs personally mark up the menu to clearly denote which meals would be safe. This level of care and attention is remarkably rare. We’ve only experienced this at a handful of other restaurants.

Now, the food. Each dish was exceptional, but a few standouts deserve special mention: the sourdough focaccia bread was extraordinary on its own, but paired with the pork loin, it became something transcendent. The scallops were the best I’ve ever had, perfectly seared with incredible flavor. Their burger exceeded all expectations, and the confit duck leg was absolutely stunning.

We finished with the bread pudding, which may have been the highlight of an already outstanding meal. Fresh whipped cream, rich chocolate chunks, and expert execution made it unforgettable.

Sylva is doing everything right. This is destination-worthy dining that rivals anything you’d find in a major city. Highly recommended.

Our family of four ordered a number of appetizers and entrees and shared everything to make our own tasting menu. We loved the bread so much, we’re ordered two orders so that we could soak up all the delicious sauces. We loved all the presentations and the music set list made for a great ambience.
We highly recommend Sylva and think this is one of the best restaurants in Lake Tahoe area.

Stellar overall experience. Japanese sweet potato was the star dish, as was the cauliflower. Also the best service I’ve seen in the Tahoe region.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! We came here randomly on a Sunday and tried a little bit of everything, every single dish was phenomenal.

The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and those mushrooms… absolutely exquisite. The octopus was super tender and flavorful, and even the kids loved their cheese pizza — a total hit!

I don’t normally like blue cheese, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try the fig and blue cheese pizza. I’m so glad I did, the figs and caramelized onions balanced everything perfectly.

The fries were seasoned and fried to perfection, and the desserts were just as incredible as the main dishes.

The staff was incredibly friendly, offering top-notch service and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish.
(We were a large party of 8)

If you’re looking for great food and five star service in Tahoe City, definitely pull up. This spot deserves a Michelin star in my book

Nice little restaurant, they opened recently. The food is family style, for 3 people they recommended ordering ~6-8 dishes (we did 6, including 3 entrees, and it was a very good amount). We liked everything we got, though nothing really stood out. A couple of dishes were very salty (specifically the sauce in the sweet potato dish, and the octopus)

SYLVA Restaurant in Lake Tahoe had a lot of hype, but for me, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The ambiance was nice, and the service was solid, but the food itself was just okay. For Lake Tahoe, it might be considered good, but compared to similar restaurants elsewhere, it didn’t stand out. I’d give it a 3 out of 5—decent, but not necessarily a place I’d go out of my way to revisit.

Innovative, creative, satisfying & surprising. Amazed by the passion, atmosphere & food. Save room for dessert! Worth a visit to Lake Tahoe just to eat here. Chef Andrew & team do an amazing job. Let me not forget to mention the focaccia – bread as light as cotton candy (an analogy so wrong and yet so right.)
