Syl’s was the perfect stop after a long hike in the Porkies. They offered a large selection of comfort foods at a reasonable price. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Paige, our server. She was highly attentive and kind, and seemed to genuinely care about her customers. Would definitely return again!!

What a cute little spot! Great service. The food was great although we did not get any photos of the food I will absolutely be back next time I am in the area! While we waited for the take out we stopped at Ontongan Beach just around the corner.

A Hidden Gem Worth Stopping For!
While passing through, we stumbled upon Syls Cafe—and what an incredible find! This cozy spot boasts a warm atmosphere and a delightful menu.
The **sweet potato fries** were absolutely delicious, paired perfectly with the **honey mustard sauce** that hit all the right notes. Iced **unsweetened tea** lovers, rejoice—it’s packed with flavor and so refreshing. As for the mains, the **thin-crust pizza** stole the show. The crispy crust was perfection, and every bite was pure bliss. It’s clear everything here is *homemade*—you can taste the love and care in every dish.
Let’s not forget the charming touches! Upon entering, there’s a display of **cookies, donuts, pastries, and pies** that will make your mouth water. Speaking of pies, the board showcasing their **homemade pie selections** is a testament to the attention to detail this cafe offers.
The friendly staff and more-than-reasonable prices make it even better. Do yourself a favor and stop by Syls Cafe—you won’t regret it!

Extremely tasty food and a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The burgers and sandwiches are extremely well made with plenty of homemade sauces to accompany it.

Good local restaurants for a tourist town, we had pizza and steak, pizza was good, steak was grounded, and it tasted OK. Waiting a little bit long, since it’s busy when we get there .

Excellent find on our travels through the U.P. Started with the cheese curds and they were the best or close to the best we’ve ever had — and we’re from WI. The food was also fantastic: cheeseburger and beer battered fries, garbage omelet with sourdough toast, and a turkey/swiss/tomato/lettuce sandwich on cranberry wild rice bread with beer battered fries. Food came quickly and my daughter followed it up with the best danish ever. Cozy atmosphere. Our server, Hannah, was a delight.

I loved this place. Good menu with lots of options. Everything I saw brought out looked good. My wife had the hot beef sandwich which was loaded with roast beef and has a huge helping of mashed potatoes and plenty of gravy. Came with sour cream and onion “fries” which were potato wedges seasoned with sour cream and onion with ranch dressing for dipping. I had the patty melt with regular fries. I love a good patty melt and this one was a good one. Lots of onions which is what make it special for me. Fries were very good. This was on a Sunday night in a smaller town. We were passing through and hoped to find something open. This place was packed! The servers were very efficient and kept things moving so we were seated, order taken, and food served with minimal wait considering the number of people they served. Small town, local atmosphere-A real gem!
