Swirl Wine Bar is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the staff are truly delightful… welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to help you have a great experience. The wine selection is fabulous, perfectly paired with delicious food that’s clearly crafted with care. And the handmade truffles? Simply amazing…rich, decadent, and completely unforgettable. Swirl is the kind of place that makes you want to linger and come back again and again. Highly recommend!

We dined in the fine dining room at the Afton House Inn and had the Steak Diane prepared tableside by Justin. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. The steak was so tender and delicious, prepared perfectly. My favorite meal. It is a rare find to have a restaurant prepare food tableside. We truly appreciate that they went above and beyond to provide an outstanding meal for us.

TL;DR: Many great wine options for whatever you’re in the mood for. Food must-tries include the duck bacon wontons with blackberry sauce, spicy chicken drops, any of the flatbreads, short rib, chicken risotto, fish tacos, and the bluegill basket. You really can’t go wrong here.

Swirl is one of our favorite spots in Afton. Their Wednesday date night special is a great deal—$42 for a bottle of house wine, two garden or Caesar salads, a flatbread to share, and truffles for dessert. If you prefer a different wine, you can purchase any bottle off the shelf, but be aware it’s more expensive to drink it there than to take it home. We used to attend the Friday wine tastings, but they’ve gotten a bit too crowded for our taste. Instead, we joined the monthly wine club and really enjoy the more relaxed meetups. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on busy nights. And if wine’s not your thing, Swirl shares ownership with The Current and offers a full bar. Keep an eye out for their special event wine and food menus for New Year’s Eve and other occasions on Facebook under “Swirl My Wine.” Great food, great drinks, and a cozy, welcoming vibe.

My husband and I have been regulars here since the summer of 2010. We visited on a Groupon for wine tasting and have been loyal patrons ever since. The staff is always friendly and the wine selection is always on point. We became members of the Wine Club that day in 2010 and have enjoyed learning and growing our knowledge and passion for wine along with others. Swirl offers themed wine dinner for a reasonable price and an exclusive wine cruise for Club members.

Perfect little spot to sit on a summer afternoon and have a burger and a beer. The turkey burger was first rate, better than I think any one I’ve had at a restaurant in the Twin Cities. The service was friendly and quick, and little patio is pleasant, with the flowers and the cheery red umbrellas.

Sarah and Nicole were awesome. They figured out all the oddities with our wine purchases from the past, from the cruise, and our failed credit card for our monthly membership. Thanks so much ladies!!!! It was definitely noisier than usual but Zeb was singing and our table was pretty close to him. We usually aren’t present when there is entertainment.

Great day to enjoy the 4th July. Swirl has beautiful American flags everywhere, many tables are available outdoors and indoors. Great, super friendly service. Cesar salad and flatbread margarita pizza were fresh and tasty. Cesar salad supposed to be without the chicken, it was fixed right the way. Besides Swirl has a phenomenal wine selection. I really recommend this place for a nice quite , private event, even if you are with your wife only . Thank you guys !
