Swingers Diner has always been, and will continue to be, for the people and of the people. Founded in 1993, its aim was to bring reasonably-priced, delicious, organic food to the neighborhood and surrounding community, at a time when this wasn’t necessarily an easy option. And the goal was to do it with style and without airs—inclusivity and a lack of pretension are some of the diner’s main ingredients. Never to be taken too seriously, Swingers’ motto rings out with a laugh—Ass, Cash or Grass, Nobody Eats for Free. After the start of the pandemic, the original owner decided to permanently close the restaurant, but Stephanie Wilson, then the general manager, knew this couldn’t be the end. Swingers Diner has been a Hollywood institution,
Trendy diner offering standards plus veggie options, retro decor & late-night hours.

A 7 year old could make a better effort at a grilled cheese than this. Not a single spice, cheese that takes up only 60% of the bread, 2 tiny slices of tomato.
Garbage. ️
The restaurant closed at 3 and we ordered at 230, even though it would take 90 seconds to fix the egg, if they were that egregiously bad, I don’t trust you to fix it.
Now on to hollandaise. As you can see by that goopy infected splooge consistency, that is SPLIT. The whole batch is ruined. Not one bit of creaminess, not a hint of citrus tang. It was hardly a sauce.
Milkshake was amazing. Home fries were good with ketchup. Would’ve added salt and pepper and fixed them properly but they weren’t on the table.
If you’re drunk and don’t respect yourself, this is indeed a place to eat food. I’d highly recommend just getting a milkshake and reminiscing on a time when diners weren’t small hate crimes against your taste buds.
The food? Way above the curve for diner fare. Think golden pancakes with just the right chew, fresh arugula tucked into a breakfast burrito, wild-caught tuna melts that taste like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just hungover and looking for comfort, they’ve got something legit—and made with better ingredients than you’d expect at 2am on Sunset.
What really pulls it all together is the staff. Engaged, sharp, always game for a little banter if you are, or just genuinely attentive if you’re flying solo. They know their regulars, but they’re just as warm to first-timers.
Swingers is the kind of place that keeps its edge without losing its heart. A diner that feels like home—if your home had really good huevos rancheros and cooler people hanging around.
They have lots to look at ( the funny saying behind the counter, the bar stool with Drew Carey’s name, variety of tshirts).
The food was really good. Although it is mostly diner food, none of it was greasy.
My only complaint is the lack of parking.
Vibes of the place was amazing as well.
Their small Swingers salad 8.95 is small, order their regular size for 10.95.
Their California Omelette, Eggs Benedict were okay, their steak and fries were quite tasty.
