I ordered a blue raspberry margarita (the special for the day and it was worth every penny), and the cajun pasta+ shrimp, chicken and broccoli.
My daughter ordered the gumbo.
And I ordered the cajun fried rice+ shrimp, chicken and broccoli to go for my spouse.
Our ticket was a little over a hundred dollars (before tip) but I will gladly go back again and give them my money!
Let’s start with the seafood nachos.. now the positives .. the nachos were really good ! however, I think the issue falls both on the establishment and the servers each topping was like an additional $10 so when I got my check for my nachos, the nachos were like $60!!! it should definitely be communicated that each topping is an additional up charge because when you market it as seafood nachos, it’s under the impression that the seafood is included. And all I got on my nachos were chicken and shrimp! Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge, nacho connoisseur so for the right nacho, I would definitely pay. The cheese on swifts nachos is really good. However, the portion size was really small for what I paid for as well.
Second, it’s not an issue for me again poor communication but gratuity is included in your check, but not stated by the server.
Third, they charge your debit card extra by like a dollar but charge normal price for paying cash.
And finally, which could make or break any restaurant is the service! The bartender is very rude and has no professionalism and no pleasantness about her. She seems young, but that poor service leaves a big impression. Her service is almost as if she works in a hole in the wall nightclub “ get your drink and leave” or “ what do you want?” it was definitely giving all of that. Patrons next to me complained about her also…
Other than that. My friends food was a great portion size & she enjoyed hers.
It’s has a very cozy aesthetic especially the lighting, it’s very dim to me. The music is smooth R&B and there’s also a TV.
We were asked to waited 3-4 mins to be seated.
KeeKee waited on our table. She managed most of the tables while we’re there and helped with bar customers outside of the hostess.
My Basa was seasoned and cooked well and arrived hot. The skin was crispy and meat was tender. I was given tartar sauce, house Cadillac sauce, and yum yum sauce for my fish. KeeKee gave me deets on a few of the house sauces ingredients. My favorite was the yum yum but the Cadillac sauce came in a close second. The Cajun rice was savory with plenty of green onion, finely diced celery and peppers. It was very flavorful.
My mom loved the shrimp & grits. Grits were creamy texture with a bit of spiciness. The shrimp tasted seasoned through and through.
We had to wait a bit for someone to check on us once we were done to get to go containers and even after that our check. Reading the bill was a bit confusing as there was one amount of paid in cash versus using credit card. I was informed it was because of some tax. I think she meant card machine fee. Both KeeKee and the hostess were personable when we interacted with them. It was just the periods of waiting that dimmed our experience.
Don’t get us started on the Cajun fried rice. We might get a full order instead of a side next time.
After our delicious meal, my dad was able to speak with the owners Reggie & Shiela (sp?) to let them know how much we loved it. Also, buy a bottle of Cadillac Sauce like we did, you won’t regret it.
