Good place! There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and the food is great! It took a minute to be seated, but everything was smooth from there on out. As a history enthusiast, I especially liked the memorabilia on the walls; it was interesting to look at. The French Dip was outstanding, and the overall experience was great. I would definitely recommend it if you are in town!

Not sure the reason for all the bad reviews as we had a great experience here. We came on Friday night and were seated fairly quickly but enjoyed great drinks and service at the bar while we waited. Absolutely loved the ambiance of the place, so much memorabilia to look at while you wait. I got the roast beef sandwich and it was delicious, the crispy onion straws on top was the perfect touch. Hubby got the french dip and really enjoyed it, the flatbread pizza our friend got was also delicious. Looking forward to coming back here when the weather is better, the strawberry lemonade mixed drink was delicious. We were in town for the inaugural Dewey’s Gettysburg Jubilee and so many of the people in our group came here and loved it.

Servers are super nice. Cute and unique set up where dogs are allowed. Really cute place. However, food is blah. We got the Rachel and it barely had cole slaw and quite frankly barely any lunch meat. We got the blt wrap and it was 80% lettuce. For $13 it should have had way more bacon. Our bill was $30 for 2 wraps and just not worth it at all. If you want to get fries it’s an additional $3.50-ha! I would skip this place honestly

I had a friend come in from Michigan. I took her here we had never been there. It took forever to get seated. The tables were left dirty, and the bartender acted like she was completely swamped! I ordered one out of three choices. Then I gave her and she chose something that wasn’t even one of the three choices all except that that’s my bad but she was absolutely horrible as a bartender/waitress and business. The place is cool but I know one thing anybody that’s looking for a job there’s wanted to be had here, bartender, waitress, seating, staff, food runner, you name it, they need it!

We stopped by for lunch. The owner was outside tending to the plants and pond. We chatted for a bit. He was very accommodating and gave us recommendations on food. The atmosphere inside was very cool and took you back in time. We ordered a BBQ sandwich and a crab cake sandwich and they were both delicious and a good portion to be walked off on our tour of downtown. It’s a great family owned place. I’d certainly go again!

Classic atmosphere, great food! Game pie is a must if game birds are in your wheelhouse. If not the chicken is worth going multiple times for, it was some of the most tender juicy chicken I have had.

One of my absolute favorite local restaurants. I grew up coming here and the meals are always delicious, fresh, and large. Plus it’s very cheap! The French onion soup is great. My other favorites bare the meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and hot roast beef sandwich. Service bus always wonderful as well. Another great reason to dine here is the authentic Pennsylvania Dutch fare!

Very nice atmosphere, good snacks. But when I asked for a glass of water at the end of my meal (after paying and tipping) the attendant simply put the glass with water over the counter and said “here it is honey”. Is this service?

The outside dining might be different but inside the tavern we waited for awhile and no one came to seat us. We asked at the bar and the bartender seemed annoyed and gestured to an empty table. No one came for awhile until the bartender came and took our order. She asked if it would be one check but we asked for separate checks to which she said that would be very hard for the kitchen to do, I don’t like to make a fuss and we started to try to discuss one of us paying and the others venmoing when she interrupted and said they couldn’t take card. It went down hill from there. I almost never leave reviews but this was comically bad service. The food was ok and not overpriced for what we ordered. We ended up getting money out of the ATM-no worries, but I’ll try another restaurant next time I’m in the area.
