Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We’d driven past several times before and were curious as to why there never seemed to be much traffic in their lot. It was busy today, though! As soon as we stepped in the door, there was a line of people waiting to order at the single cash register; apparently, a Harley group had stopped in and the restaurant’s not really set up to handle sudden crowds. The foyer is very small, so we squeezed in and waited about eight minutes to order. We ordered the ham sandwich and brisket plate. 28 minutes to prepare while we waited for a table to open up (seats 40-50). The ham sandwich had generous slabs of juicy ham on it that would have accepted a nice slice of smoked cheddar if they offered it. The brisket was a bit dry and I was glad we ordered sauce on the side since it was rather ketchupy. The beans were OK, but not very smoky or savory. The potato salad didn’t know what it wanted to be since it looked like a creamy style but came at you like a vinaigrette. Anyhow, our experience was somewhat mixed.

Ribs had so much fat and cartilage that they were inedible. They were just sitting in a plate filled with liquid by the way. The “BBQ” sauce has the texture and consistency of tomato paste/sauce- tasted like it too. The brisket was dry and chopped up with no smoke ring. Chicken had a very good flavor but was dry which took away from any favor it had when you took a drink to wet your mouth. The fries were the best part. I think the biggest turn off for me was the fact that they brought the food out mounded on styrofoam plates with no room to actually move the food around, and no plate for eaten ribs- which I guess they are used to people just throwing them away anyway. Oh well. $55 down the drain but at least it was edible and filled us up.

Wow, the BBQ here is excellent! Loved my double decker sandwich. The meat was tender and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and delicious. The pickles complemented the meal extremely well. Very happy we decided to stop by and try this place out! Prices were not too unreasonable and the staff were kind. Very clean and organized inside too. No complaints!

Didn’t come for the atmosphere but wanted some authentic bbq. was not disappointed. you order first and take a seat. we got a 3 meat combo platter with ribs , turkey and beef. it was more than enough to share. hillbilly beans and coke slaw were good but not amazing. all in for 20.00 including a tip. Great stop just off the highway.

If you’re looking for great bbq, this is a must stop! EVERY SINGLE THING here is delicious, the pulled pork is tender and piled high, the ribs literally fall off the bone. The chicken wings may be the best I’ve ever had, smoked and then flash fried for a crispy finish! The turkey is so moist and their bbq sauces are out of this world. Fantastic sides and overall a great value for the money! The food comes out fast and hot! Disregard the weird reviews, it’s a “hole in the wall” local joint and those are always the best! They’ve been around for a long time and there’s a reason for that, the locals definitely know it! So if you’re heading down 44/route 66, be sure to check them out, I guarantee it’ll become your favorite bbq joint too!!

6 out of 5 stars! Wonderful food and staff! The sauce was amazing. We bought 2 bottles. 1 spicy and 1 regular. We split a 3 meat plate. Fall of the bone ribs! Brisket was pretty good and the sausage was great. Couldn’t have asked for better food.

It ain’t Meat Church or Snows. We got our food quickly and it wasn’t bad. BBQ people are typically REALLY into BBQ. Someone lost their passion here. Fries were homemade. Big Plus! Coca-Cola on tap ,Yes! Pulled pork sandwich is my barometer with typical joints. Mine was uninspired. Edible and fair price. Needs a recharge though. Givem a try. Might be your thing.

The only reason I gave them a 4 was the green bean and hillbilly bean seam to be just beans from a can no extra effort! The ribs were fall off the bone and good flavor and the sausage was very good! Friendly people and great atmosphere! And best of all my semi could turn around in their dirt lot.

We hit this place while trucking from Texas to Pennsylvania and after seeing nothin but Wendy’s, Subway, and McDonalds it was a heaven’s sent miracle. Portions were huge, food was delicious, and it was late so we had the whole place to ourselves. If you are passing through this area it is a must stop, you won’t regret it.
