Fresh Roll:
These rolls are not fried and are ideal forthe health-conscious. These fresh salad rolls are stuffed with glass cabbage, carrots, tofu, and fresh basil. Served with peanut sauce
Please tell me where that says lettuce let alone 99% lettuce to 1% noodle (which is the base of these rolls)…. It doesn’t. It’s cheap and a filler. Just like doing 1/4-1/2 serving of chicken max on a $20 meal. Again everyone can see what that chicken looks like, no one is eating that who wanted teriyaki chicken. It’s bubbling and foaming and green.
That lettuce isn’t brown or red from heat and anyone who’s ever eaten lettuce knows that. That’s a lie and an excuse. The lettuce turned and was not any good.
I called 3 times, the man on the phone was incredibly rude and couldn’t have cared less that our food was inedible. Him and the owner were both so busy talking over me and interrupting me over and over to ask what i wanted to order that it took 3 calls and 10 min of my time to even get the feedback.
Of course by that point i was beyond annoyed. I live 35 min away, and paid cash ($70+tip), and didn’t have dinner for my family i wasn’t driving 70’ min there and back again. You offered to comp my next meal, as anyone can see from the photos there would never be a next meal
Your response is extremely insincere and everyone can see that who reads this.
I am so disappointed. This has been our families go to for years, truly all the Thai places in town are fantastic. Until tonight when we learned after we got home with our $70 dinner it has changed owners. I ordered teriyaki chicken for $20. This came with 1/4 the amount of chicken it used to. Red and brown turned lettuce all over it, the chicken that is there is green and frothy, no teriyaki chicken should be green or frothy, between that and the turned ( salad) which is actually just lettuce as there is no dressing etc.
Then the fresh rolls. They are 99% LETTUCE. GROSS. lettuce doesn’t even go in Thai fresh rolls, this is a filler, cheap stuff thrown in. Almost 0 noodles or anything; all lettuce.
It’s clearly they are going for cheap cheap cheap in quality and ingredients but increased the prices.
I’ll attach photos or the rolls and the chicken. The mango was also slimy and the noodles so overcooked you couldn’t even get them out of the box.
100% of the food went in the trash.
I won’t even get into when i tried (3 times) to call and talk to them about the order and they just kept asking me what i wanted to order.
This is so heartbreaking so see a wonderful local restaurant that the family worked so hard for deteriorate so drastically.
Ploy was especially welcoming to me, my fiance and my service dog Phoebe. Her smile and energetic spirit warmed us all.
The atmosphere is like a healing spa…very peaceful with wooden designed architecture and beautiful Thai paintings…
The previous owner’s food was fantastic and these new owners have some of their own recipes that are equally exquisite to taste. Tar is an awesome chef and the food is super-fresh and obviously made with care.
We always love to start with the Fresh rolls filled with wonderful salad ingredients and a most delicious peanut sauce. (order extra so each person can have plenty!)
We love the Phad Thai and the Panang Curry and they were happy to provide me with brown rice and my fiance with white rice….all perfectly cooked. We like to order 2 main dishes and share them and this is just the right amount of food along with the appetizer to be filling and satisfying.
Also, when I requested to add eggplant to my Pananag curry Tar did, and it was super soft, melt in your mouth DELICIOUS!
I went there to celebrate my 68th birthday and felt like we were treated and dined like kings and queens. We were gifted with a coconut ice cream covered with whipped cream, peanut bits and a mint leaf which was just the perfect ending to a fantastic, memorable dinner. She even got a carafe of fresh water for my dog! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! Go there if you have the chance, you will be well fed!
The Thai tea with standard Thai tea, but a good amount in the glass.
The fried banana dessert with coconut ice cream with sweet, but that was to be expected. The coconut ice cream was amazing with little chunks of coconut inside.
Minus the lock of flavor profile with the pineapple fried rice with chicken, everything was amazing you know absolutely return.
First: the good
Service was stellar, friendly, prompt.
The atmosphere was great
Now the critique: the peanut sauce curry tastes good, but it’s not the same. It doesn’t have the same creamy peanuty flavor with its signature tang. The only peanut flavor were a few small peanuts. It has no tang and is quite peppery. The onions have changed the flavor profile.
While we’re glad it did taste good, it’s not the flavor and texture we’ve grown to love. We will be moving on in terms of looking for a favorite Thai place.
*Edit add-on* 8/11/22. Spring rolls, Pad Thai and Curry was flavorful and hot. I’ve tried Thai and Curry from east coast US heading west to Japan and this is as good as I’ve had anywhere. First time wife was here and said it’s better than the most recent Thai restaurant we frequented. Still 5*!
