Very good croissant, my barista was amazing(used to play volleyball with him) hot chocolate is exquisite. Could use some chill music in here a little too quiet but if you like to study this is the place compared to Dunkin or Starbucks.

As life long residents of Winfield, we’ve been hoping for a place like this for years and it’s finally here. We got the:

kashmiri chai (with pistachio): 4/5, taste was good but probably wouldn’t get it with the pistachio next time
karak chai: 5/5, really good, tasted like home
iced latte: good
tiramisu: 3.5/5, good for a cafe
pecan pie tarte: 5/5, not overly sweet and crust was fresh
ras malai tres leches: 2/5, the only thing we didn’t like, not sweet at all and didn’t care for the consistency

The drinks tasted amazing! The ambience is also great- there’s plenty of space to sit and enjoy your treats that we ended up dining in even though we had gotten our stuff to go. Can’t wait to come back and try all the other amazing bakery items and drinks.

Eta: we came back a few days later-
Rosy chai: 5/5, nice perfectly subtle rose flavor and not syrupy
Cappuccino: 4.5/5, good
Quiche: 4/5, flavor was good, but point off because it was cold in the middle
Tomato basil turkish bread: 5/5, bread is soft, and good balance of cheese and tomato

The hype is a little more than expected. Being a Winfield resident I was a little surprised to see the expense here. But hey why not give it a try. Inside is clean without a doubt. I agree with some of the other reviews, a little music or something in the background, even on low, would make the world of difference. The drinks are decent. A little strong on the flavoring. The grilled cheese was marginal, at best. Hard to justify 8.25. The creamy garlic chicken focaccia was pretty decent. When something was out of stock I did over hear the employees seeing if it was thawed(?) hopefully it’s not all frozen and what not but that’s not a concern I guess. The staff were more than friendly. Overall it was a okay experience. Again a little overly done for this area but then again it’s next to the hospital so makes sense.

Beautifully decorated interior, calm atmosphere, very clean. Greeted right away when I walked in and everyone was helpful to make sure my experience was pleasant or if they could help in any way to make it better. The owner is sweet and diligent, can tell she has a heart for this place. Spinach feta bread was hot and fresh, tasted good. Also ordered lavender cardamom latte which was pleasant not over powering and not super sweet which i liked alot. Birthday cake caksicle and pistachio tiramisu look delicious still need to eat(will update soon).

I thought my drink was very tasty. I had a lavender cardamom chai. I have been waiting for dt Winfield to have a nice place like this to go. It definitely has a cafe feel to it. It’s more modern and classic than cozy. There is plenty of parking. I need to come back and try some of the food.

There are plenty of places to plug in if you need a place to charge and work for a while with a bite to eat. I gave 4 stars because it was a little dirty in the cafe and the person taking my order was on a personal phone call as they interacted with me. Not the worst but not the best.

Friendly staff and cozy environment. The length of wait was bad–but hopefully they’ll work this out over the next couple months (as they have only recently opened). The prices are a bit higher than I’m willing to pay for a café I frequent– which means I won’t come daily but perhaps once a month.
Overall, good food, friendly staff, but long waits and pricey options make this a three-star experience.

Sweet Reserve Cafe & Bakery – A Charming New Spot in Winfield, IL

Tucked away in the heart of Winfield, Sweet Reserve Cafe & Bakery is a lovely new addition to the suburban coffee and pastry scene. With its clean, bright, and light-filled interior, this café channels a modern French bistro vibe that’s both welcoming and refined. Think airy pastels, tasteful décor, and an abundance of natural light – it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger.

Ambiance & Seating
One of the standout features here is the plentiful seating – a refreshing change from some of the more cramped spots in the area. Whether you’re meeting a friend, working on your laptop, or simply soaking in the ambiance, the space feels open and thoughtfully arranged. The aesthetic is on point, balancing charm with comfort.

Food & Coffee
I tried an almond croissant, which I had warmed up. While the flavor was pleasant, the texture leaned a bit chewy – possibly a result of the reheating process. I’ll likely try it unheated next time to see if that improves the experience. As for the coffee, I went with a cortado. It leaned slightly on the bitter side, but still delivered a decent espresso punch.

Service
The staff was friendly and polite, which always makes a difference. Service was smooth, and the team seemed genuinely happy to be there, adding to the overall positive feel.

Final Thoughts
While Sweet Reserve Cafe & Bakery didn’t knock it out of the park on my first visit, there’s a lot to like. The ambiance alone makes it worth checking out again, and I’ll definitely give it another try soon. That said, I’m not in a rush to return just yet – but I’m hopeful that future visits will elevate the experience.

If you’re in Winfield and appreciate a stylish, spacious café setting, Sweet Reserve is certainly worth a stop.

My husband and I live in Winfield so we’re very excited to have a new bakery in town. We stopped in early Monday morning before catching the train. We got the raspberry danish and an iced latte – it was $11. They warmed up the danish and it’s delicious! There was plenty of tables and chairs available for seating, and they brought the items to us. Overall very happy and we’ll be back (:
