Passing through Alabama and stopped in for lunch. Great down home Southern cooking at this small restaurant. Went with the stuffed pork chop, cabbage casserole, cream corn and cornbread. Highly recommended!!

Just stopped here for the first time on our way home from the beach…won’t be the last time! Fried chicken, greens, and butter beans were well seasoned and delicious, and portions were generous. All for very reasonable price (about the same cost as a fast food burger meal). And only 1/2 mile off of I-65 so very convenient. Final positive is that the people were friendly and welcoming. Stop here…you won’t be disappointed.

If you have never considered moving to Alabama, eat at Sweet P’s and your whole perspective on life will change. We stopped in today on our way home from a weekend in pensacola and discovered the best food we have ever eaten. You can tell that they love what they do by the taste of the food. We are headed home to pack up and move back just to be close to this place! Lol

We usually stop at Chic Fil A when we travel but our timing was off this trip. I have dietary restrictions so we can’t just stop anywhere. I generally don’t like to stop in Evergreen so we kept on going. Our last options for awhile were either Sweet P’s or Arby’s/Pizza at the Love’s on the same exit. Sweet P’s had good reviews so we thought we’d try it!
I’m glad we did! My girls had the chicken fingers and I had the baked chicken. Both were very good. We also had the cabbage, corn, and rice for sides. Everything was so good but we should’ve gotten the gravy for the rice!
Sweet Ps is convenient to the interstate and the food was hot and fresh (we were there within 15 minutes of them opening for lunch). The restrooms and seating area were clean. The staff welcomed us and were very nice even though we were taking forever making choices.
We’ll definitely go back another time!

We found this little hole in the wall while traveling, and what a gem it is! The food was so authentic and delicious, and the staff were all very friendly. The wood panelled walls and the hearty Southern dishes reminded me of Sunday dinners at my grandmother’s as a child.

Barely off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Quiet. Quaint. And super good. Amazing soul food and friendly people. You MUST try their award winning cornbread! Better than mommas (but don’t tell momma). Fried okra and fried chicken were cooked and prepared to perfection. Fried pies are a must for dessert. This is my new favorite spot to eat in Evergreen.

We stopped here on our way to SC and I am SO glad we did! Everything was so good I cleaned my plate and wish now I would have ordered one more to go lol I had smothered pork chops, rice, gravy, butter beans, and collards. I think we’re going to have to stop by on our way home to TX

Super delicious food and super friendly staff! I had the collard greens, black eyed peas, cabbage casserole and cornbread; my husband had the same plus chicken and we were both in food heaven. Very reasonable prices as well. You’ll be glad you stopped here.

Just a couple of minutes off the highway, definitely better than hitting any of the fast food stuff. home cooked meal, excellent fried chicken and seriously the best peas/beans combo I’ve ever eaten! Chef said the secret is in the beans. 😉

Update on Feb 16: Second visit. I don’t know what “dry Lima beans” are but I could just eat them as my entire meal. Wow! Also they are so nice to let me mix and match a piece of friend chicken and a piece of baked chicken. Both outstanding. Love this place. Pictures (Lima beans & chicken) are from 2nd visit
