Okay im going to be unbiased with this. Presentation amazing . I got the catfish meal with two sides (rice& peas / mac) the catfish needed more seasoning ( it was still edible) , the mac was okay leaning more on the dry side but it visually looks amazing. Nearly $30 spent for greasy, tiny, hard, dry wings cooked in last weeks fish oil. Greasy greens and flavorless mac. Total waste of time and money. Should have got pizza. This is not the same Sweet Potato from years ago when they had tables and chairs. Bye!

Personally, I haven’t been able to reach the establishment to see the atmosphere. However, I have been ordering through DoorDash every now and then. The food is ALWAYS fresh no matter the time of the day! My favorite is the fried whiting dinner meal!!!!! The Mac & cheese is ACTUALLY cheesy. I loveeee everything! I can also appreciate the staff for taking their time to make sure orders are correct.

I used to like this place. Had a taste for fried chicken tonight and ordered a meal. I won’t use overly negative words…but let’s say the meal didn’t come close to my expectations. I couldn’t even finish it. I hope they re-focus, hire some cooks that can execute soul food and get their act together. I’ll wait 3 to 6 months and order again.

One of my favorites, if not my #1 favorite soul food restaurant. I wish the establishment will one day expand the size. It is a very small in size, and only seats 12-15 people tops, and that would make it tight in there. The small side is more for takeout. I have been on the bigger side for Sunday brunch. Love the jazz band, and the full buffet. Today in particular, my mother said let’s go out to eat. I really wanted her to try this restaurant. Her stomach is very sensitive, and can’t eat certain things. I just wish the waitress was a little bit more patient, and not so fast to catch an attitude, when trying to order the food the way she likes it . Overall, my mother enjoyed the food as well. She loved her extra crispy chicken and she enjoyed the the Sweet Potatoe Fries as well. I liked the Seafood Delight, but was a huge fan of the crab cakes. It was just okay. The string beans had that extra kick to it. The Mac & Cheese was/is my favorite side dish. Delicious!

Been searching for a good soul food restaurant close by for a while and stumbled across this one on Google maps. The reviews were mixed, but mostly good and enough to get us to make the drive from the Bronx. And boy are we glad we did.
The guys behind the counter are really friendly and knowledgeable about what they are serving you.
We got the combo platter fried chicken and short ribs. Mac n cheese, string beans (great flavor) for me and Mac n cheese and potato salad for him.
The sides were good, the chicken was good but the short ribs were really good. So tender and the sauce was deeeelicious. And the portions were HUGE. They gave us so much food that we have to wait until tomorrow to try the cobblers we bought.
Will definitely be back.

If you want down-home southern food, this is the place. It’s a quaint place with a lot of traffic. I sat with my daughter for Mother’s Day and the young man that served us was excellent. Patronize this establishment. It’s not everyday that you can go to a southern place and it reminds you of home. It felt like my great-grandmother was cooking..

I got the small banana pudding and was incredibly disappointed for it being a soul food spot. I want to say it’s almost the exact same thing as the banana pudding from any chicken spot, same small round container and everything. Definitely not worth $4.50+
