I had a “lunchbox” cupcake – yellow cake & chocolate icing, I think buttercream. I usually find that cupcakes are too dry. This was moist but not mushy and absolutely delicious! I would have been perfectly happy with the cupcake even if it wasn’t iced.

This was my second visit to this bakery. I first tried it about three years ago when I lived across the street. Back then, it was just okay, but I decided to give it another shot based on some recent positive reviews.
Unfortunately, this visit was underwhelming. The cupcakes I received were cold, almost frozen, which really affected the texture and flavor. They were just average, not bad, but nothing memorable.
At $5 per cupcake (plus tax and a suggested tip), I ended up spending $17 for three. For that price, I expected a fresher, more enjoyable cupcake There are definitely more affordable and better-quality options in the area.
That said, the store itself is adorable. The aesthetic and decor are charming and inviting. I just wish the product matched the vibe.

Pretty little bakery shop tucked away in downtown New Haven. There’s lots of gorgeous cookware items to feast your eyes on, in addition to the wonderful desserts. The owner was very kind. I had the salted caramel and cannoli cupcakes – pillowy perfection! I loved how soft and not overwhelming the icings and flavors were. Would definitely stop in again!

OMG Finally amazing cupcakes in New Haven! So moist and delicious! They are beautiful and the woman there who seemed like the owner was lovely and efficient. I had a Boston Cream, red velvet and a peanut butter cookie and I was very happy with my purchase. 10/10 Will return!

I love this store! Mary is one of the nicest ladies in the neighborhood and she bakes some of the most delicious desserts.
We got some cookies and some other desserts (we ate them so fast before we even took a picture). But we got a coffee crumble, a fudge brownie, and some chocolate chip cookies and they were so delicious. Not too sweet, but with so much flavor behind it.
Would recommend you to stop by and grab a small dessert anytime you can! She also sells excellent bakeware if needed.

I went in to buy cupcakes to make a pregnancy announcement and the store is so cute and clean, the woman working was so sweet and professional ( I had to give her a tip because good customer service is so rare these days)I will definitely be back. As far as taste goes, there was absolutely no complaints from anyone and the red velvet was easily the biggest hit but I’m am a huge fan of the both Strawberry flavors

Popped in to see what the store was like; it’s so cute, smells amazing, and has a really inviting atmosphere. I bought three cookies and a card. We ate the cookies before thinking to take a picture but trust they were tasty!

My daughter from Virginia ordered pink champagne cupcakes for me by phone. They were a special order. Beautiful and sooo yummy. Ready for me on my birthday. Parking was not a problem in and out in a snap. Now I have to stop eating every last one all by myself

We have loved Sweet Mary’s since she made the cookies for our wedding guests in 2015. We’re so glad to see her back open after COVID interrupted so much local business. Her sweets are delicious and her store is a treat. Good for host/hostess gifts too!
