I had the raspberry cheesecake and it was absolutely delicious. I really loved it.
The girl at the cashier was very sweet, very helpful, and very customer-friendly. Thank you so much to her.
The only reason I gave one point less is that the chicken and meat options are not halal. If there were halal options, this would definitely be a place I would choose often for dinner.
It’s a very cute café and very close to my home. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit.

Simple and sweet cafe. Definitely well educated staff in the products. Love the pasties, no matter which I get they are fresh but my favorite is the chocolate croissant. The coffee is good and not over done with sugar and sweets. If you from the area this place is definitely worth checking out.

Everything that needs to be said about this lovely Montclair cafe has already been said by other reviewers. The ambiance is just as cozy and homey as others have suggested, and the service (both at the tables and counters) is friendly to boot.
What I’d like to add to the heaps of praise of this sweet cafe is my personal ode to the pistachio croissant. Maybe it’s the recent vitality of the famed Dubai chocolate, but I’ve noticed this green nut making a more prominent appearance in pastry shops (to note: Sweet Kitchen proffers their own version of the Dubai dessert). I was tempted by two of them behind this cafe’s counters – the gluten-free pistachio cookie and the pistachio croissant.
For a cookie free of gluten, this one’s got plenty of crunch and texture. There’s a ton of almondy essence (maybe it’s made with almond flour?) that beautifully complements the flavor of the ground pistachios. But the croissant was what took my breath away. When we broke into it, we audibly gasped at the gooey dribble of pistachio filling that revealed itself. It’s a wonderful and tasty surprise that, along with the crunchy pistachio topping, makes for an incredible take on the humble croissant.
There are just enough tables to provide a low hum of vibrancy without making things too loud. The corner of self-service materials (eating utensils, water cups, and bins for used glassware) also makes this a great space for hanging out to work or catch up with friends without waiting for servers.

Sweet Kitchen perfectly captures the cozy charm of Montclair while serving up truly exceptional treats, new Gelato section, especially Pistachio Gelato and was absolutely blown away. The creamy texture and rich flavor and sugar balance was outstanding. Everything I saw—from the croissants to the cakes—looked picture-perfect.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great little escape. Plus, the service was fast and friendly. If you’re in the area and looking for high-quality baked goods or authentic gelato, Sweet Kitchen is a must-visit!

Tried this spot with friends. I ordered the Spirulina smoothie – it was too ice-y and not creamy at all. It was more of a slushie than smoothie. The place is popular with locals- for good reasons: the interior is very cozy and is decorated like the inside of a living room; there’s also a generous outdoor seating. It’s still overpriced for bread, leaves, and processed bakery food.

I went to sweet kitchen for breakfast and thought my food would come out how they’re promoting it to be. I spent $71 for a to go order. It’s beautiful aesthetically but service and food do not match their presentation. My boyfriend got the French toast with cream cheese, strawberries, and a side of scrambled eggs. His French toast came out soggy, strawberries thrown in not even on top, and cream cheese in a container on the side. We weren’t given utensils to spread the cream cheese. When I went inside to ask for the cream cheese on top they put the whole side of cream cheese on 1 out of 3 slices of soggy french toast. Took it back to disperse it evenly between the 3 slices and gave it back with cream cheese on the lid and grease stains on the box. We left and I started to eat my avocado croissant sandwich with eggs to find a piece of hair in my food. When I went inside both times to request a refund and give their unsatisfactory food back, the woman with the light eyes, brown hair, and accent at the counter was chuckling and laughing the entire time. What an amazing way to have customer service and help your customer when they’re not happy with what was provided. Never going back.

I always come to sweet kitchen ever since I was in high school and I love it. Its pretty the food and tasty and recently Ive been getting the Iced Lattes however today I paid $10 dollars for a Iced latte that did NOT taste good. I had it last week and it was amazing so the barista who made it didn’t do a good job. I told her something was off and if I can exchange it for something else on the menu and I can pay the Difference and she said yes. But she give me a 2 dollar discount from the item I wanted to exchange my latte for and said it was a generous offer? which isn’t true so I spent 10 dollars on a drink I did not like? This is why I love the younger staff there very sweet and kind unlike the one from today…

One of my friend Nil
works here, and I can honestly say they put a lot of care and effort into their work — you can really feel it in the service. The coffee was excellent, and everything felt clean and well-organized.
Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for a cozy spot with great vibes and kind people.
