Reviews
The space is nice, but the food wasn’t really my taste, so I didn’t finish it.
I might come back again because it’s a good place to sit and spend some time.
It was less crowded than I expected, which made it comfortable to stay.
They do have a lot of unique breads, though.
Walking into Sweet Hut is like entering a paradise of delectable sweets, treats, and joyous moments. The walls are adorned with a plethora of baked goods, Danish pastries, donuts, cakes, breads, rolls, dainty desserts, and fantastic gift boxes – perfect for any celebration or satisfying your sweet tooth cravings. The staff exudes warmth and positivity, despite their limited knowledge of the menu beyond what’s in front of them.
One kind lady handed me a binder showing the different types of baked goods available – regular, vegetarian, and vegan, also indicated on the digital menu by green leaves. Oddly enough, there were no vegan markings on the digital menu. After some digging, we finally discovered the ingredients for the samosas and were able to place our order for those along with a curry sauce.
The samosas and vegan spring rolls were piping hot and fresh, though their taste was just average. I opted for a tofu sandwich on lettuce since it originally came on a brioche bun. The taste was good, but the presentation was messy due to an improper lettuce wrap technique. The plum fries on the side were an interesting choice but didn’t quite hit the mark for my taste buds.
Our companions enjoyed the cookies and doughnuts, labeling them as pretty good, while the green tea mochi filled with chocolate was deemed okay. For me, the most important part of this review is the lack of ingredient and nutritional information provided. While it may be available online, it’s inconvenient and potentially risky for those with allergies or dietary restrictions.
Some customers may be in a hurry and not have the time to check online for ingredients. This lack of information could be detrimental to their health. While Sweet Hut does have an allergy binder available, not everyone may have the time to search for what’s in their food.
The customer service was great!!!
The only reason I did not rate a 5 was that bakery items were just average to us. We have tried other Asian bakeries and grocery stores and this one was good, but comparable items from other places were better. We tried two of the sandwiches and they were wonderful!! The cucumber salad was also great! The fries were blah. We did not get a chance to try and of the drinks, but they did look good!
