I decided to stop at this place since it was on my way. I made a big mistake. The food was bad. My family took one bite and we all threw it away immediately. Two of the entrees we ordered had a strong fishy taste, you know the one when you are not sure if the shrimp are bad. We could only eat the third item, steamed vegetables. We will NOT be ordering again.

I have never eaten here and I NEVER plan to! I honestly wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone. I recently posted an add on Craigslist for my sweet fur babies that unfortunately we have to rehome. Tell me why I got an email from the restaurant asking for one of my cats??? I asked if they wanted to meet them before taking one home and they said no they just wanted to pick it up and go. After reading all these other reviews about the food it makes complete sense to me. I told them we are being picky with who we give them to and asked to meet them before letting them take one and they never responded! That alone tells me enough about this place. I feel sorry for anyone who has and will go to this place to eat.

this place is a childhood favorite of mine. ever since i was a kid, my family has always trusted sweet house for their kind personnel, good food, and overall hospitality. their pork dumplings are TO DIE FOR! no one else in york has better food or better service 🙂

The food was incredibly bad! They hardly even got my order right. I asked for sweet and sour chicken, they only gave me fried chicken, lo mein was very tasteless and blan, and fortune cookies were stale. The store was very messy, and poor customer service, menu pictures faded, coworker playing a game in the middle of his shift, and just a terrible experience. I’m not coming back! Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Sweet House!

A typical Chinese food spot- nothing extraordinary or not horrible either. Hot food, prepared properly, good price. Spent $30 and got a free liter of soda. Chicken Lo Mein didn’t have a lot of chicken in it. Not the best value for Chinese in York.

I used to eat at Sweet House at least once a week for years. Over the past few years I have stopped going because of the poor service i’ve recieved.
I work literally 3 miles down the street and although they USED to deliver they now say they can not deliver here….. which sucks for them because i am an amazing tipper…. especially for chinese.
I do NOT recommend this place.
I do not know if they are under new ownership or what but the customer service has turned to CRAP and the food is not NEARLY as good as it used to be.

Wanted to try some place we never did and never will again. The food wasnt hot even after waiting, and it has no flavor. The bathrooms smelled horrible of urine. There was a high chair that was black with filth. Broken and not safe. Open boxes of food and other items just sitting in hallway. Chest freezer just sitting in back by bathrooms. It was one of the worst experiences. Thats what i get formtrying something new. I’ll just stick to what I know 🙁

Unless you’re at a Chinese restaurant I don’t know what you expect as far as quality of food. You get what you pay for. But once this place became the only delivery place in a 3 miles radius, they stopped delivering before 430 aka when the food price is cheaper. I definitely will not be patronizing this place anymore.

The cleanest thing there was the dirt on the walls. Employees children were bothering us the whole time while we were eating. Also, very nasty food DO NOT GO THERE.

This place is pathetic. They say they will deliver food and I live only 1 mile away, but that is apparently too far for them. Not to mention they were rude on the phone and hung up on me.
