I placed a pickup order from Sweet Home Jamaica today for oxtail with rice & peas and cabbage, plus a mango sea moss drink.

Oxtail:
10/10. Perfect seasoning — a little Cajun kick blended with rich Caribbean spices. The meat was tender, flavorful, and the portion size was great. Only small note? I wish they had added a little more of that delicious oxtail gravy on top. That would’ve made it perfection. (So technically 9.5/10.)

Rice & Peas:
Cooked perfectly — not mushy, not dry, just right. Balanced flavor that complemented the oxtail beautifully.

Cabbage:
…Yeah, no. 2/10 (and honestly, it felt more like a 0). The flavors just weren’t there. It gave “Here you go since you asked” energy, like when your mom throws something on your plate so you’ll stop talking. Definitely not the highlight of the meal.

Mango Sea Moss Drink:
Love mango, love sea moss, and this combo works. Refreshing and smooth. Solid 8–9/10, but felt like it was missing a little something extra to make it pop.

Extra Notes:
They forgot my cocoa bread in my pickup order, which was disappointing. On top of that, they completely forgot an entire order for someone I was with. When they went back to pick it up, they were told the restaurant had run out of everything — which is why those items weren’t in the bag in the first place. That information would have been great to know ahead of time or at least when picking up the order, rather than after making a second trip.

Overall:
If I average it out, this meal lands around an 8.5–9/10. The oxtail and rice & peas will have me coming back for sure. But I’ll skip the cabbage next time, double-check my bag before leaving, and hope the communication is better in the future.

Only giving 1 star for front staff…(Edit, now food)
I come here a lot on my lunch break, love the food… Wife always hear me speaking of the great food.

Today bought my wife..
Spanish lady, who I ordered through B4…gave me an my wife attitude..about something that’s wrote on the menu..
Wife started to say something but didn’t want to ruin the little time we spend together..

My wife felt it also ..

I thought it was a little weird to see Spanish lady working in this store.. when I first started seeing her.but hey

To now give attitude..
I can find a different lunch place spot, if this happens again

Edit after eating…….

Don’t no if she making the food but now different, SAD….

Plantain was hard, curling up, not sticky, when touched no residue on fingers, felt like a potato..
Cabbage was so hard…

Won’t return till my people tell me she gone..

My favorite spot when I want a taste of authentic Jamaican cuisine. During my most resent visit I ordered: Mannish Water, Curry Goat, and a small fried chicken. My family loved it hot, flavorful and delicious. Not to mention the fresh juices they offer. Soooo good. Try it and share what you ordered. Tell him Ari sent you.

The food is great IF you get it early in the day. They are open until 8 but the food quality goes down significantly after 5. Otherwise the food is good, fresh, and they have great portions. The chicken wings are good when it’s early and they’re fresh but after a certain time, the chicken is dry, hard, and inedible. I ordered delivery and all my food was dry, burnt, and overcooked. Again the food is great but they need to do better with keeping it fresh later in the day. They’ll put anything in the bag when you order delivery after a certain time so that’s another much needed improvement. They would be perfect if they ensured the quality of EVERYTHING. Giving me dry, flavorless, overcooked chicken was a turn off. It’s best to just go in the store so you can see what you’re getting and you’ll have a great experience.

I came to this restaurant with a few coworkers after a meeting. Upon my arrival, the cashier attendant seemed irritated with me inquiring about the menu. To settle, I ended up ordering the jerk chicken lunch special. However, once I got my platter, I realized it was only the jerk chicken and the rice & peas. I re-read the menu to make sure I wasn’t tripping, and it stated “rice & peas, yellow rice OR white rice AND vegetables” (please see sign attached). When I asked about the vegetables, the cashier stated “it’s $1 extra” then walked away. Didn’t ask if I wanted it…just walked away. Now, I know there’s a stereotype of dealing with “rude workers” at Jamaican restaurants is a common joke but the cashier WASN’T JAMAICAN. So I can’t accept that. The food overall wasn’t too bad. I give it a 3.8 in my opinion. But customer service…that’s another story.

Stopped by for lunch during a work meeting. Order the goat curry with rice and peas, Mac and cheese and a beef patty. The goat was absolutely delicious. It was flavorful with just the right amount of heat and the meat was tender. Same for the beef patty, the crust was flaky and meat well seasoned and delicious. I would skip on the Mac and cheese though. I was not expecting the rainbow noodles used which had a pasty consistency. Overall though super solid food and I would definitely go back.

Today was my first time trying this restaurant after hearing good things. I meant to order through DoorDash and pick up but my order never went through but the food came out piping hot and when I finally settled in to eat, I was not disappointed
Oxtails a Plenty !! Tender and falling off the booooonneee
Coco head soft and warm and I got like six patties in assorted flavors! No notes. No complaints. Kudos to the chefs (sidebar: didn’t get a before picture, this was my first meal of the day )

I was in the mood for some Caribbean food on a Friday. I was in the neighborhood and decided to give them a try. I thought that this was just a carryout so I was surprised to see that the restaurant was filled with nice seating and decor.

The menu had so much to choose from but I picked a few things for my to-go order. I ordered a large Curry Goat, a large Brown Stew Chicken, and a small Curry Chicken. The food was full of flavor and the portion sizes for the chicken dishes were good. The only complaint was the Goat. The Goat itself was good but it seemed like the dish was filled with a lot of vegetables and rice. An extra scoop of goat would have been love.

I’ll be back soon to try more dishes.

The food is always fresh but be careful of the fish soup because on 12/12/2025 I purchased a large fish soup with everything minus the scales. I literally had to take the meat out of the boul and peel the entire skin off to enjoy it. Overall though, that fish dish was great, the carrots, dumplings, thyme seasoning, potatoes, yams was very tasteful.

I ate here once before the food was very salty, but I decided to give it another try I thought Just try something different. I went in there to order my food with my service dog and the gentleman playing music told me I can’t be in there. He didn’t even ask if it was a service dog. It’s against the law to ask someone to leave not even knowing The situation. Yes, it is a little unusual, but I had someone else placed my order while I sat near the door that way I’m not close to the food. Definitely discrimination and I think it’s a little bit insensitive an ignorant for this establishment to not service me just because I had my service dog. I would’ve gladly showed him papers that I have on me, but I decided no thank you I’m not gonna spend my hard earned money where my dog and I are not welcome. Service everything and I am not pleased. WILL NOT BE BACK. Not to mention, I’ve bought him in there the first time I tried their salty food and no one said anything find that very funny. (Yes, it can be legal to ask someone with a service dog to leave a public place, but only if the dog is out of control (barking, growling, having accidents) and the handler doesn’t regain control) my dog is small and weighs 8 pounds Clearly, he’s not a threat he didn’t even bark. So me and my dog was forced to stand outside in the freezing cold, waiting for our ride.
