Nice and quiet. Took my Dad Herr for breakfast. Dad had #13- 2 eggs over easy, pancakes with 2 sausage patties. I had the meat lovers Fritta. More than enough food! Cooked fast and service was great!

This place is so cute inside! You wouldn’t know from the exterior. Warm, woodsy, home-like atmosphere. Large wrap around bar seating as well as booths and tables. The food is excellent quality and the prices are competitive. 5 stars, must visit if in the area!

Just over the southern city limits of Syracuse, down the ancient pathway of S Salina Street, which cuts down the center of the South Side Valley area, rests an old settlement now called Nedrow, New York. This area has long been inhabited and more recently, it was one of the first places Europeans settled in the Territory of Haudenosaunee in the place where the People of the Hills kept the fire of the Confederacy. The intersection of S Salina St and E Roswell Ave was traditionalyl the center of the Nedrow settlement where there still stands a building that was an old saloon and inn. Across S Salina St from that old saloon is a building that has housed many eating establishments going back many of decades. The current establishment, Sweet Grass Diner, has converted the place from a mere counter style dinner into a full seating area. The space is very comfortable.
Now some would say, ,”diner food is all the same.” But I would say that each diner has a unique taste, if they are any good at all. This place has that uniqueness.
When you walk in from the back or the side there is always someone there that makes you feel welcome. The staff is very friendly and inviting. They have a full diner food menu and breakfast is served all day except on Friday because of Fish Fry Fridays. Just about anything you order will be to your liking. What I like is when you order steak and eggs and you ask for the steak rare, that’s how they’ll give it to you unlike a lot of places.
So if you live in Syracuse, drive south through the Valley and give this place a try. Or maybe you are traveling I81and are feeling peckish. Well get off at exit 16 and take a short drive down US Rt 11 north to Nedrow and grab a bite. You can also sitesee some by driving around a little to see some very old houses up E Roswell Ave and Old Kennedy Road. Enjoy.

Stopped by here just looking for something quick & simple & I got much more than I ever could expected. This is simply put as an good old Fashioned neighborhood spot & that’s what I like. Came in at around 11 a.m. & it was kinda in between breakfast & lunch. Saw Countryfried steak perfect and that it was. Along with Eggs & Homfries more than I could even finish, Thank goodness I passed on the toast that came with it because I would really been in a food coma & never would have made it home. Danielle & Janielle couldn’t have been nicer or more efficient, my recommendation stop by for some good old Fashioned grub, you won’t be sorry.

While traveling on vacation myself and a few family members enjoyed a delicious breakfast one day and a enjoyable lunch on another, great atmosphere in the restaurant the super service from the servers to the Cooks in the kitchen all take pride in what they put in front of you, the portions were large the flavor was packed in every item that we ordered off their diverse menu yeah, we’ll definitely be stopping in again when were in that area traveling
