I’d been meaning to get by here, as it is close to our own restaurant. I will not take as long to return! First, the staff/owners are so nice. I got catfish and a honey chicken sandwich. Both were very well seasoned and delicious. Love the fries, too! Bonus is the owners’ sister, who has a counter for her business, Chocolate Spoon Bake Shoppe. I got red velvet cake, a chocolate cake, and she threw in a sugar cookie. I almost hid all of the food from my husband because I didn’t want to share. My better side kept me honest. Great people and great food. Hopefully we can do a collaboration of some sort!

Let me begin by saying that this restaurant caught me by surprise. It sits in the heights unassuming and tucked away, but I am so glad that I found them! The food was delicious, hot and the servings were so generous! The inside is decorated very nicely and the tables were clean and the dining area was very spacious . I absolutely will be back!
Now let’s get into this dessert!! I got the Red Lady Layer -red velvet cake and it was amazing! It was moist and just sweet enough to complement the cream cheese frosting and the portion was so generous! I will be back for their other desserts, such as the 7-up pound cake, tea cakes and cinnamon roll bourbon bread pudding ! My sweet treat was packaged with care—from the cute watermelon food wrap to the cute gift bag. Such nice touches!

Drove in from STL for a friends trip and we heard this was a nice spot to go and black owned. It’s tucked away in a small Plaza so don’t blink or u will miss it. It’s only open 11am-2pm so we got there about 12 on Saturday and it was packed! We found the last table and waited about 10 mins to order. The menu is cute and simple. They call your order by celebrity names and food was served rather quickly. I ordered fish and waffle and split with my husband along with church punch. Fish was crispy and seasoned well but my waffle was not as crisp and served with cold syrup. My total was $25 and worth it. They also have a dessert bar which was amazing and the brownies… !! Would definitely recommend and go back. Our friend had this bowl with grits, eggs, shrimp etc…I think he licked it clean!!

We had the deep fried ribs (well executed, and not oily at all!), greens, yams, okra, red beans and rice, fried pecan pie, church punch and the meat pies. The food was delicious and very well executed! The greens are addictive.
You get your money’s worth for sure. Nice cozy location too.
At the bakery counter, we had the blackout cake and the sweet potato pie. She knows what she’s doing!

I love Sweet cheeks food but today I went off what I normally order and tried the chicken and dressing special…. wrong choice . Respectfully opinion,the baked chicken was a 3/5 but the dressing had no flavor. Couldn’t taste sage, poultry seasoning, cream of mushroom, chicken, nothing! I was highly disappointed but I will support them again but stick to what I usually order. The sides were good. Only suggestion is if a customer orders greens, please give them a complimentary piece of cornbread instead of charging.

The only good thing about this place was the music. I waited about 30 minutes for my food, and when they say “big wings,” they mean huge—so big you can’t even break them apart. The mac and cheese wasn’t seasoned, and overall the food just wasn’t good. I ended up paying $30 for a meal I couldn’t enjoy. Definitely not worth it.

If I could leave a zero rating I would. I was visiting from Louisiana this week, and someone recommended this restaurant. Never again. The food was horrible, the supposedly Creole greens came straight out of the can with no seasoning or meat added it to it. I am from Louisiana, any time Creole food, we expect a certain taste. The yams was also came straight out of the can, no brown sugar or cinnamon was added to it. The baked chicken wasn’t seasoned at all, but the absolute worst item was the dressing, took much broth was used therefore making the dressing not be firm but watery. I haven’t had food this bad in a long time. Nearly everyone else ordered the catfish and wings plate. Perhaps Thursday 7-31-25 just happened to be a bad day for them. And to top it all off, I was double charged for the drinks because I am sure the sales tax on $36.00 isn’t $7.

I visited this place the other day while in Little Rock on business after seeing a TikTok video. Well let’s just say it did not disappoint. I had the meatloaf and it was absolutely delicious. The owners are very nice and they have a desert bar as well. The banana cake was so good I’m considering driving back from Dallas.
