For delicious gluten free breads and pastries, this store is the best I’ve been to. They have a large variety of baked goods that are so good you will wonder how they make them gluten free! I bought a fresh orange roll and it was incredibly soft, fluffy and flavorful. Also enjoyed the raspberry bars and pecan caramel bars! In addition, they sell bags of their special brand of flour so you can use it in your own recipes.

I have truly never experienced customer service this poor. I initially called to ask how to order a wedding cake and was told I needed to submit an online inquiry so the “cake person” could get back to me. No problem- I submitted the inquiry the same day.

After a week and a half with no response, I called to follow up and was told it can sometimes take two weeks to get a response. Again, totally fine. 2 weeks later I called- the girl told me no one was in the bakery that could answer my question (simply how do I order a wedding cake) and she had no clue what to do and hung up the phone without offering even a call back. Finally after two and a half weeks with still no response, I called again. The person who answered seemed completely unaware of my inquiry and had no idea what I was talking about when I explained the situation.

She took down my email and said someone would reach out. About 20 minutes later I got a call from someone at the bakery asking, “Are you the girl who just called about a cake?” Yeah…. I think that was me. “Well what do you want to know.” When I explained that I was simply trying to figure out how to order a wedding cake, I was told I could just order it over the phone.

I’m sorry, but ordering a wedding cake without a tasting, consultation, or even a conversation about design seems pretty unusual. At that point it felt clear that there was no real process or communication happening.

Unfortunately, I’ll be taking my business to a different gluten free bakery in Salt Lake. It’s disappointing because I had heard great things about the bakery, but this experience made it impossible to move forward.

Ive been coming to sweet Cakes since they were a little new shop in kaysville. They used to be my favorite because you couldn’t tell they were gluten free but lately I feel like it’s gone downhill.
First they have jacked up their prices a ton. I definitely think it’s due to their prime main street store front and they have to cover the cost of that.
Second. They have never had great customer service but it’s worse lately. They never say welcome or anything, they just sit there and stare at you till you tell them what you want which is super weird. Ive gone in several times and you can hear them in the back laughing and talking and not laying attention to the front. Even ringing the bell they dont come up.
There is one worker there who is great, I dont know his name but he’s super friendly and always answers any questions!
Third, the quality of their food has gone way down. Especially for how much they charge you.
Most everything is way to sweet. Majority of the things taste like they have been frozen and were not fresh baked ot were stale. Everything is overly sweet. You can only take a couple bites before it’s not good anymore.
I ordered an apple pie a couple months ago and it was probably the worst pie I’ve had. It was all crust that was extremely gummy. The apples they used were so sour and there was almost no filling in the pie. I paod 30 dollars for the pie and was extremely disappointed.

Overall, not worth the price. But unfortunately it’s one of the few solely gluten free places in davis/weber area. If you are in provo or Orem they have much better options down there!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! They have a bit of a rotating menu, so following on instagram is a must! Everything I’ve gotten has been delicious. As someone who has known they’ve had Celiac for almost 17 years, I promise you will not regret coming here!

They also have vegan options if you’re into/need those!

Great gluten free treats, my GF coworkers love them. About $5 per item (brownie, cupcake, cookie, etc). The service is often a little slow. Easy street parking. All of the flours contain nuts, but the sign says they can make nut-free for special orders. Most items have eggs. They changed hours in 2026 and now they open at 11 on weekdays.

The place was cute, the customer service was great. We ordered a pumpkin cinnamon roll, a sugar cookie, and a pecan bar. Unfortunately it was all just SO sweet. They could cut the sugar in half easily. The textures definitely were “gluten free”. In my opinion, the best gluten free desserts are when you can’t tell they’re gluten free, and you can definitely tell. Take a double shot of insulin before you plan to come here…

I drove an hour round-trip today only to go to Sweet Cake to buy a gift. I checked the website and it states they open at 9:00am. When I got there at 9:05, there was a paper sign on the door stating today they were opening at 10:00am today.. It’s the Friday before Christmas. No time to waste for anyone. As I returned to my car, I could see an employee laughing as she knew I was there to shop and they were closed. I have always thought the customer service here needed a lot of improvement. I won’t be going back.

I love this bakery some of the best gluten free items I’ve come across. Ive been a customer for years now.

Some of the cons however are: They are really pricey especially for full size items and the staff is not very knowledgeable about the items they sell. I would say 90% of the questions I ask go unanswered or I’m given the wrong answer even basic questions like “what in this cookie?”. Which I’m sure could be frustrating for someone new to the shop. All in all I still recommend you give them a try their lemon cream pie is my favorite item.

I read a lot of comments that said the service wasn’t great, however we found that to be complete opposite with our experience. First time going in and they were extremely kind and patient with all of our questions. Offered us recommendations and wrapped up our choices nicely so they would travel well. Didn’t feel pressured to hurry and left wanting to come back and try more.

Took off one star just because the cupcakes we got were off a smidge in texture. Almost a touch dry. But we will still go back and try another.

I like that they offer vegan options as well as the gluten free. Overall a good experience. I hope they succeed in the area.

My husband and I have heard about Sweet Cake Bake Shop a while ago and finally decided to check them out because their cinnamon rolls looked fluffy and delicious. They are, in fact, fluffy and Delicious. You can’t even tell that any of their baked goods are gluten-free. We even tried some of the vegan treats, even though we are not vegan eaters… they were just as tasty as the rest, too. We sampled a little bit of everything from cupcakes, bars, rolls, and cookies. We have been twice and have gotten too many to name, but some of our favorites are the cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, key lime and chocolate cream cheese cupcakes, vegan lemon crinkle cookie and the kitchen sink cookie. I haven’t tried the bars or savory rolls yet, but I am excited to try them this weekend. This is the closest gluten-free bakery to our house, so im very happy that they are actually very tasty and the bakery is extremely cute and cozy.
