I recently tried their creamy chicken with rice and their sweet & tangy sesame chicken — both were absolutely delicious. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and the balance of texture and taste really stands out. You can tell the ingredients are handled with care.
What I appreciate the most is that Sweet Bamboo delivers consistent quality at a very reasonable price. It’s the kind of place you can come back to again and again without breaking the bank, and still be impressed each time.
Living nearby, I feel lucky to have such a tasty and affordable option just around the corner. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and good value in Elmhurst!
The menu offers this as an option so since I like their food I called to ask like the menu says to do. The first person who answered was nice but couldn’t give me any details about what their catering offerings are (I wanted to know which menu items are avail for catering, sizes, and prices) so they transferred me to someone “who could help.”
A man answered angrily “what do you want” so I explained that I’m calling to inquire about catering options and I was transferred to him…before I can finish this explanation he immediately started to yell at me. “WE DONT HAVE LARGE SIZES, PERSONAL ONLY, YOU WANT OUR FOOD? PERSONAL SIZE and PICK IT UP YOURSELF, DONT CALL THIS NUMBER” and hung up on me.
This happened about 2 months ago and I haven’t gone back since…and yesterday they texted me for a Superbowl promotion if you spend more than $30…. Usually for Superbowl parties people order in large quantities like catering so I’m confused. If I order for a superbowl party an order of more than $30 like the text encourages me to do are you going to verbally abuse me again? If they don’t want to offer catering that’s fine, but everyone in the business should be in agreement, don’t promote large party sizes to customers and then get mad at them when they try to give you money for the products you are promoting. Very insulting that they have the audacity to yell at someone who is trying to respectfully make purchases with them and advocates for their business, I have recommended this place to so many people in the neighborhood but not anymore.
The staff is friendly, quick, and always welcoming, whether you’re dining in or picking up takeout. The place is clean and has a cozy, no-frills vibe that focuses on what really matters — great food.
Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious, authentic Chinese food. This place never disappoints!
The cherry on top is: they’re the first I’ve seen to separate the brown sauce from the beef and broccoli so I don’t feel like I’m eating sauce with bits of meat and veggies. It’s like having salad dressing on the side and I get to dip my food in it to control how much sauce I eat. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, the color was vibrant green. Loved it
First of all, lets we admit the price is really cheap, so I dont know with reviewer saying its expensive. I bet they drunk or high, because you can see price very cheap.
Now lets talk about taste. You can’t expect 5 stars fancy restaurant taste for this type of restaurant. You are indeed crazy if you are expecting that. The taste not bad, but, I wish they can be more flavour 20% from their current one. I ordered steamed wonton once, fried wonton once, pork fried rice, and lo mein. Their taste is very american white bland taste. I didnt mean this place has to make it strong flavour like regular chinese food, but at least just bring up the flavour like 20% more to make it tastier.
I notice this place just opened, so I will give another chance. I love the place because it just one blocks away from me.
So, I’ll come again next month and see if there some improvement to their food. I will update.
Also another input. Could you put thai ice tea on your beverage list and make the cup smaller lil bit from your current cup. Thank you .
