A lively Irish pub with a hip vibe, brick-&-beam interior, a garden and locally sourced food.

Visited Sweet Afton, look a place to have a early dinner. I found the staff polite, engaging, and most friendly. The food was average and the menu was somewhat limited. Adding a few more items in their selection, would greatly improve the menu appeal. The drinks were incredibly, well balanced and expertly crafted. They are said to have live music on Wednesdays, so I am planning on returning to see what offered for the in house performance. All said and done my experience was positive.

Went for birthday brunch with couple of friends. We basically trued all the popular dishes and drinks. The outdoor covered seating was really fun. They seemed quited busy for weekend brunch. Luckily, we reserved table and hence got nice corner. All the staffs seemed really friendly and we did enjoy our visit.

Sweet Afton is an Astoria establishment known for its inviting ambiance, great bites and amazing selection of drinks.
Service – was amazing the hostess seats you and brings you water right away. The servers took our drink and food orders and in less than 15min everything arrived.
Food
Burger & Fries – my partner was disappointing in the burger, but I thought it the patty was well seasoned and had an exceptional crust. The burger was a tad bit dry and no sauce. The homemade / cut fries were on point soft and crisp.
Chicken & Broccoli Rabe Sausage Roll – just avoid. It’s a hit of a handful to eat. The relish is a great touch and the toasted sesame bun were the highlights. Much rather have tried the chicken sandwich or Philly melt. The sausage roll was under whelming and not worth the $19.
Popcorn chicken – batter wasn’t crisp enough and the use of chicken breast made it all to dry. Wouldn’t get again despite the batter being well seasoned, felt myself coming back to the ranch and honey mustard dips far too often.
Overall it’s a great place for drinks and a bite.

I booked a long table for a “Dad’s brunch,” five dads and five two year olds. We were…a lot, a glass broke within five minutes of arrival.
The staff was professional, fast, and accommodating throughout the meal. We felt like it was understood we needed to be out fast, without making us feel like inconveniences. The food was of great quality, the kids particularly liked the eggs and pancakes.
So grateful for a really nice experience!

One of my favorite bars in the area!
Stopped in for dinner: Bloody Mary hand cut chips and fried chicken sandwich on Pullman toast with a Dublin Old Fashion to drink.
Cocktail wasn’t my favorite (bad choice on my part, I’ve had other great cocktails from here before) but the sandwich was incredible! Service was nice and timely. Recommended.

Amazing bottomless mimosas and unique, delicious brunch options. I got the eggs Benedict, which had a tasty hollandaise, which was just unique enough to really stand out but still taste classic. Everything is gorgeous and top quality.

Definite GEM in Astoria. Mature crowd, great cocktail lineup and craft beers along with really good bar bites. Before mentioned is the perfect recipe for a great local establishment. Parking around the area is a bit difficult but nonetheless definitely worth a trip, or two, or three.

I’ve been visiting this place every few months for many years, and I still enjoy it there. However, let me just say this: the food menu and the dishes themselves have significantly declined over the past couple of years. I’ve given them another chance each time, but the last visit was very disappointing. We ordered four different items, and only one of them was prepared properly and tasted good. Let’s call it a good bar, but not a good gastropub anymore.

Went there with friends for brunch. Loved the avocado toast and the cinnamon french toast sticks, however the breakfast nachos were really disappointing: way too many ingredients and chips were extremely greasy (?). Service was quite slow but we didn’t mind. Atmosphere was very cozy!

I had just finished a great meal at New York Bakery Café and decided to stop by Sweet Afton and wow, I’m so glad I did! The moment I walked in, the vibe was inviting and full of energy, yet still cozy enough to relax after a long day. The food was delicious, and the drinks were perfectly made. You can tell the staff really care about what they do friendly, attentive, and fast.
