Stopped by here while camping at Calhoun Falls, this was an unexpected surprise for sure, I’m from SW Florida and used to getting baked goods, pies and cakes from our Mennonite/Amish community there and this bakery was great! They have so much to offer here, breads, breakfast rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, cooking books, candy and more! I was thrilled to get a chocolate peanut butter pie, the strawberry pie was so good we stopped by here again on our way home and bought another one! Definitely check this out if you’re in the area. They are only open Thursday,Friday and Saturday.

This bakery has a wide assortment of cakes,pies, cookies, breads and specialty baked goods in addition to jams, jellies, honey, and homemade peanut butter! We brought home some sourdough bread, turtle cheesecake, lemon cookies, Italian cream cake, and banana chips. Food was delicious and the service was friendly. We will definitely be going back.

I have been coming to Swartzentruber’s for many years. The only disappointment I have ever found there is when they sell all of the coconut cream pies before I get there. They are absolutely delicious. The blackberry pastries rank up at the top, as do the cakes, breads, and everything else in the store. If you are traveling through Abbeville, you must stop here.

Worth the (out of the way) drive to this charming little one-room bakery. We’ve just found this little hidden gem in Abbeville, SC. Our first purchase was the caramel apple monkey bread (I think), it was just suberb. We bought 2 cherry phyllo turnovers that literally are the best that we’ve ever had. On our second and latest trip, we bought the cherry phyllo turnovers AGAIN and also tried blackbery. Lastly, we bought the coconut cake which was JUST “so-so”. although nice and tender, there was very little flavor (it didn’t tase cononut-y at all!). We don’t recommend that selection. We’ll back again this next weekend.

This used to be my “must stop” place traveling between GA and SC. Last week I purchased banana bread, sticky buns, cheese biscuits, pretzels and an assortment of cake slices. Except for the cake which was just ok, everything else was extremely dry, with the pretzels being rancid. Very, very disappointing.
