The exterior and entrance of the location feature a variety of beach decorations. Upon arrival, one may find it necessary to navigate around a small parking lot, often resulting in parking at a different shopping center before walking to the restaurant. Once seated, the service observed was minimal despite the dining room being mostly empty. After placing an order, there was a brief wait before the food was delivered, at which point the staff appeared to primarily assist other tables without checking in. Following a signal for attention, the waitress promptly provided ranch and mayonnaise for the burger.
The menu included fish tacos, which were described as flavorful, with the taco sauce complementing the Mahi Mahi tacos well. The accompanying rice and beans, however, were noted to have very basic flavors. The tacos received a high rating, while the overall dish including the rice and beans received a lower rating. A dining partner ordered a veggie burger that was reported to be dry, requiring additional mayonnaise for enhancement.
Overall, the food quality was observed to be average, with no standout elements. The service experience mirrored this sentiment. The interior of the establishment appeared worn, with some tables in need of cleaning, a chipped floor, and a trash bag covering the tap handles in the bar.

Great place to go with family, kids, and whoever. You can bring dogs to the outside dining area. They have options for every dietary restriction (including beyond burgers). I had a delicious corned beef hash with gf multigrain bread, next time I’ll try gluten-free French toast! The wait staff is wonderful, there are a ton of options, and the food is delicious for typical diner fare.

A little run down on the outside but gives you that authentic beach feel.
Staff was reaally nice and on top of the service. Food came out in a good time. Burrito was great, good flavor. Eggs Benedict sauce was actually really delicious and unique.
Only complaint was the home fries was a little cold but still tasted good so not deducting any stars for that.

I have only tried their breakfast a few times, which have been larger portions. You can’t go wrong with the French Toast which is very filling and can be shared. The omelets are also a good option.

I am giving three stars for we have never had bad service at the Swami’s in Encinitas. The people are always cordial, friendly & our servers are typically honest and caring. Having said that, however, the last two times our food either came out late (After a very long wait, longer than normal even when crowded.), cold or made altogether wrong. We love Swami’s but these potentially problematic issues are not a good trend to fall into. I am hoping with a little encouragement, they will reset and tweak some things that seriously need tweaking before they get completely out of control forcing us to consider whether or not we would go back again in the future…especially with Corner Bakery across the street starting to look evermore inviting (We haven’t been there yet but hear it’s pretty good.)…
First of all, stop sending out cold food. OMG! We are tired of getting cold eggs! Secondly, STOP over cooking (Or sometimes under cooking) the bacon, my wife and I would like to keep all of our teeth, please, thank you. Thirdly, some batters require more liquid than others (See an example of the horribly made Organic Whole Wheat Pancakes I got below). Some of these batters, like the Whole Wheat or Gluten Free batters require more liquid to keep them together. More so than a regular baking flour mix. My wife and I know this from experience and we are both experienced home cooks. When you make such batters with too little liquid guess what happens…?…have a look below (Or above, I don’t know where google puts the photos in the reviews.). Not good at all y’all, please fix this and we will be coming back again very soon to see if any of these issues have been taken to heart or if Swami’s really is just another “Big” restaurant chain that cares more about the bottom line than the customers satisfaction. Again, our issues have been food quality issues, not server or service issues.

Swami’s have great menu. Food is always good. Service is great. This location is our preferred location as they have great staff. Delicious food. Plenty of indoor laidback seating. Easy parking. Full table service. Just perfect. Only couple miles from the beach if one like go there after breakfast for nice walk. Perfect!

Every Swami’s is different and wonderful. The food is always good quality, and the meals are delicious. Some recent favorites- guac bacon burger, BLTA, big breakfast and more. Highly recommended.

I had a great experience this morning having breakfast with a friend. I’m going to save a lot of words and say that the staff has the restaurant thing down! Keep up the good work, with everybody going out of business nowadays it’s a blessing to have a place like swami’s to go to. If you haven’t been there you’re missing out. Thank you swami’s for many many years of delicious food and service. I’m a fan for life!
