It was our first time here. We got Vada pav, sev puri, samosa chat and masala chai. Asked it to be made spicy with sweet chutney on the side. There was excessive sweet chutney in every dish despite telling them twice. Inattentive staff. Food was good, low on salt, samosa was very soggy. Vada pav aloo was low on seasoning and flavor, tasted bland. Masala chai was good. Can improve a lot on flavors and customer service. The lady in the front taking orders was not very friendly.

A special appreciation for Mr. Mahesh, the owner, who has done a fantastic job—the food is delicious and truly reflects his passion.

I frequently visit here and have always loved their food. I catered through them for an event recently and absolutely loved the service and quality of food. They did live pani puri station and it was such a hit! Everyone enjoyed it throughly and it was talk of my event.

When they initially opened, food was good. But not sure what has happened recently. Chhole had so much onions inside you could barely see the chole and they seem to be using Goya cans. I thought they were authentic and used real choles but they don’t and kulches as well they use those naan rotis you buy from Indian square in a plastic bag as kulches. They are not kulches. Pulao was also stale and tasteless. And sev puri was so bad. Full of sev but no coriander, no tomatoes, not enough filling and sour chutney tasted very bad. It seems as if they have gained a customer base, increased price, reduced quantity and quality. Definitely will avoid for now.

I recently visited Swad Mania in Jersey City and had a delightful experience. The service was very good, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The food was wonderful, with each dish bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the pani puri, cheese angoor subzi, and ratlami sev bhel. I was pleasantly surprised by the ratlami sev bhel, expecting it to be spicy, but it turned out to be sweet and delicious.

The place itself is small and cozy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, I had a great experience at Swad Mania and would highly recommend it to others

We had lunch at Swad Mania near Journal Square before continuing our NYC adventures. We ordered the Cheese Angoori Combo Meal with pulao and paratha, the Butter Paneer Combo Meal with pulao and paratha, along with Thums Up and Kashmira soda. For snacks, we tried the Dahi Puri, Cheese Dabeli, and Bun Samosa.

The Dahi Puri and Cheese Dabeli were tasty and stood out. However, the combo meals were overly spicy and had a homemade feel that didn’t quite meet our expectations. The overall taste was just okay, and we wouldn’t recommend the combo meals.

The restaurant offers a variety of Indian street food options, but based on our experience, we’d suggest trying other places in the area for a more satisfying meal.

Food was terrible, Stale and cold!!! we ordered paneer masala. It had a funny smell. And the paneer was chewy. Samosa chat was served cold. How is that even possible! I think u have to fry the samosa right before serving unless it was fried in the morning but regardless it was served cold. And third item was Bombay sandwich, which was ok. It didn’t really have any flavor. I would give 2.5 to 3 stars for the food.

Honestly we should have gone to taco mahal in the city instead. Every time we eat at taco mahal in the city, we are blown away. The food is so fresh. Every bite is heavenly.

Food was ok, Jamun shot was not up to the mark, it tasted more of beet root than Jamun.

Dahi Puri was ok. Samosa chat should have two pieces of samosa as it had more chole in it.

Service was nice, small sitting area which is also ok. It is a good option for quick bites.
