Genuinely the best Indian food in the Madison area. Doesn’t really compare to anywhere else, and I have tried other places. The chai in particular is really reeeeeeally good; a little sweet but I like it that way.
Service too is always top notch. The wait staff here are extremely accommodating and kind.

Food is outstanding. The medium level spice isn’t overwhelming and the flavors are amazing. The staff is attentive and kind without being over bearing. I had the chicken mango curry and my son had the chicken curry. We also had nan stuffed with potato and peas and the 65 chicken for apps. This place is a gem for being in Monona – nice we don’t have to drive to the west side for Indian coming from Stoughton.

By far the best Indian restaurant in Madison! Swad has the most delicious food and superior service. It’s not worth your time or money to go anywhere else. I have found every other Indian restaurant in the Madison area to be deeply disappointing.

I’m disappointed w/ the amount I got. I got the butter chicken. I feel like for the price I paid I should’ve gotten the larger container size. The flavors were amazing. I’m traveling through town so I’m not that hurt. I would recommend if you want good flavor but don’t need much haha.

Consistent quality, I always order takeout. I like the comfort of my home but their dining room is well organized with enough space. They couldve packed it to maximize tables but they didn’t in order to maximize comfort. Really though, it’s the food I love. There are few establishments where if you order the same thing week after week, that it doesnt change, this is one of those places. Skill at its finest.

This Indian restaurant buffet is an absolute treasure for anyone craving authentic, flavorful dishes with an impressive variety. Each dish carries its own unique personality, making the dining experience both exciting and satisfying.

The garlic naan deserves a special mention—perfectly balanced with a soft, flaky texture and just the right touch of crunch. The garlic topping is generous but not overwhelming, making it an ideal companion to every curry on the buffet line.

The Rasam soup stood out with its bold, spicy kick. It’s the kind of dish that instantly warms you up—so comforting, I could easily imagine sipping it beside a crackling fireplace on a cold winter evening.

Desserts were a delightful finish. The mango ice cream and the kulfi was smooth and refreshing, lightly sweetened so the flavor could shine through—no sugar overload here, just a clean, lovely end to the meal.

If you’re looking for a buffet that offers both quality and variety, this spot is a must-visit.

First time here. Came with a friend for the lunch buffet. It’s a strip mall, with a parking lot out front. It has a main dining area when you come in, and the buffet was set up in another room.

Got greeted and set up with water, and a place setting. Ordered an ice tea too.

There was an excellent selection at the buffet. Everything was well organized, and labeled. My friend warned me about anything that might have been too spicy. I took a small sample of most of the items, including the coconut soup.

Most of the food that I tried was hot, and mildly seasoned. I especially enjoyed the Gobhi Manchurian and the Samosas. I suppose for a buffet is was good, but I would want to come back and get a fresh plate of some of the better items.

Super good service throughout the entire meal. On the way out they have a mix of fennel at the front desk. Learned it’s eaten as a breath freshener, and it works. Nice touch.

Food was great. Service was great. Beautiful artwork on the walls. I had samosas for an appetizer & my friend had stuffed Naan. I had chicken tandoori for my meal & she had a fish dish that I don’t remember the name of. It was a breaded fish. The restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere. I’d definitely go back.

Best Indian food on the East Side, hands down. Flavors are amazing, you can’t go wrong! Their chai and mango lassi are excellent. I used to live close to Little India in Chicago (Roger’s Park) so I’m quite picky about my Indian food and praise doesn’t come lightly.

My only complaint is the chicken tikka masala has dry chicken. My “hack” is to get masala paneer and chicken biryani since that chicken is more tender/moist.
