The size of the vada paav gets smaller and smaller but the prices keep increasing. The service was extremely awful. The waiter didn’t take our order for 25 mins and then took another 20 mins to get our drinks. He was rude and arrogant. Kept telling us how full the place was and he didn’t even let us keep the menu.
We ordered a variety of Indian dishes and had to wait a very long time for the food to arrive. When it finally came, the taste was even more surprising in a bad way. The mango lassi and some of the curries tasted almost the same — very sweet instead of flavorful or spicy like we expected. It felt strange because Indian food is usually known for its rich and balanced spices.
The experience was quite disappointing, especially since it was meant to be a birthday celebration. Slow service and food that didn’t taste authentic or properly seasoned made the visit frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience.
The taste of all our dishes were good (for mains we had the Kharda), yummy desserts. For one of the starters the quantity seemed very less (while the taste was actually quite yummy) because the serving portion of the plate was very small with a wide outer base.
I’ve visited their Pasing branch (if im not mistaken) a year or so ago and remember seeing more variety of Maharashtrian cuisine like Misal Pav but I dont think they have this in the Schwabing branch which is what I missed.
I’d definitely recommend Swaad for an experience of Maharashtrian cuisine and I would eagerly wish that they continue to add or serve more of those!
We ordered 3 dishes with rice and some small side dishes and everything was excellent.
Service was fast and very pleasant.
Highly recommended!!
Service was excellent on that day
