I highly recommend avoiding this mess if you’re looking for quality food—unless, of course, you want to experience the worst culinary disaster. waste of $58.00
We have a family party coming up, so we decided to try SV Andhra Mess with the thought that even if the taste was above average, we could consider giving them a bulk order for the event. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare and a truly pathetic experience.
I spoke with restaurant team and they was unapologetically rude and never called back
I’ve shared a detailed review with all my friends and colleagues, warning them not to waste their time or money on this place—it was simply unworthy of even a second glance.
Here’s what I ordered:
– Coffee
– Non-veg thali
– Vanjaram fish fry
The total came to around $57. Here’s what I encountered:
**The Fish:**
For $14, I got just one piece of fish. A steep price, but even worse—it was undercooked and tasted disgusting.
**The Meal:**
– The rice was either half-cooked or stale—definitely not fresh, and they only served a half portion.
– The chicken and mutton curry were both undercooked, with a rotten smell.
– The dal was passable, but nothing special.
– The sambar was awful.
– The rasam tasted like watery salt with barely any flavor.
– The curd was spoiled, though it had turmeric and salt mixed in.
– As for the sweet, they sent a poorly cooked bonda with an uncooked filling inside.
After such a disastrous experience, I didn’t even have the courage to try the coffee. I’m pretty sure it would’ve been equally bad, so I decided not to risk upsetting my stomach further.
What’s most unfortunate is that such an experience can potentially tarnish the reputation of Indian food in the US. I hope my review helps you make a more informed decision. Please steer clear of this place—your time, money, and taste buds deserve much better!
FYI : the chef is not Andhra person but different person it’s not authentic Andhra food. They even accepted that.
Highly recommend not to visit,And don’t encourage this kind of mindset people in business.who doesn’t value customers.
I randomly stumbled upon S & V Andhra Mess for lunch and decided to try their veg thali. Let me tell you—it blew my mind! The flavors were authentic, comforting, and absolutely delicious. I was so impressed that I came back the very same evening with my entire badminton crew—8 hungry folks ready to feast.
We ordered a mountain of food (no time for photos—we were too busy devouring it all ):
Chilli Chicken, Chicken 65, Masala Dosa, Andhra Karam Dosa, Paya, Fish Pulusu with Paratha, Mutton Sukka, Kingfish Fry, Chicken Biryani, Rose Milk, Mango Lassi, and Lime Soda.
Every single dish was bursting with flavor. This is the first time I’ve had truly authentic Andhra and Hyderabadi food in Cary, North Carolina. If you’re craving bold spices and homestyle cooking that hits the soul—this is the spot.
Run, don’t walk—you won’t regret it.
