For nearly 25 years Suzie Hong has been Hampden’s ‘Noodle Queen.’ She has shown her love and respect to her loyal cliental by always giving them what they need rather than what they want. And what they need is delicious, fresh and beautifully presented food. She does not rely on purveyors to bring to her what they pull off their shelves, but rather goes to the various farmer markets, stores or wholesalers to pick what she knows is the best quality products for her friends (also know as the loyal cliental). She has fed couples on a date who have later married and she now feeds their adult children. Her philosophy for the restaurant is: you are coming to my personal dining room and I cannot give you bad food!

My daughter called ahead to make sure Suzie had a table and that we’re welcome. 10 minutes later in a cute and eccentric and eclectic restaurant we were welcomed by Suzie. She is quite the character but so warm, caring and opinionated.
There is an extensive card but she prefers to suggest what you should eat so wie did.
It was the best and freshest Korean food I have ever had. We all had the same dish

I just found my new favorite! I poked my head in and -even though she wasn’t technically open yet- i was treated to an amazing chicken noodle dish which was created while I waited in the cute, funky dining area. It felt like my mom was cooking for me. Also the best part? It was DELICIOUS. The whole experience made my day. You should try it!!

111/100 Suzie and her creation here are grand in every sense. From the space to the decor to the food to the service and people behind the work. Great ownership and real as they come
It’s more than just noodles here it’s a whole ambiance on a plate. Great selection and variety. She told me not to review her but she deserves it but I will listen and support by returning

Suzie’s Soba is a hidden . As you walk the strip, you may notice the beautifully colored exterior but once you enter, you are taken into a completely different world. From the atmosphere, to food, and service. You are brought into a friendly, loving experience. Don’t expect to always get a table, so you must call ahead of you have a party coming in.
Let the chef decide if you are brave like I was, and you won’t be disappointed.
감사합니다 Suzie. 맛있게 먹었어요.

The food is good and the portion size is very filling for each dish. Get something spicy.
Suzie is as many other reviews will describe a character! If you are a thin skinned the customer is right no matter what type I would stay away.

Such a cute little place for lunch! The Bi Bim Bahp was so delicious, lots of vegetables and the gochujang on the rice was such a nice touch! The beef was tender and seasoned perfectly. The owner is SO sweet and is very interactive with the customers! Highly reccomend if you’re looking for a cute spot for some great conversation!!

Being a small business owner, I know how difficult it is to run a small business especially a food place, so I try my best not to give a bad review, if I can help it. But this lady is outrageous. In the two interactions we’ve had, she flat out lied and essentially kicked us out of her restaurant. At some point, eccentricity is fine and long as it doesn’t spill over into rudeness and obnoxiousness.

We went here on a whim to grab lunch and we were not disappointed! The Pad Thai was so delicious that I wanted to keep eating it even when I was too full for more. My boyfriend got the Donburi and he left nothing behind in his bowl. The tea was some of the best we’ve ever had, and we had to stop ourselves from inhaling the entire cup immediately. We will definitely be coming back here often.

Good to know Suzie’s hasn’t changed in 20+ years. When this place was fairly new my family and I went in for dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and there was only one person seemingly running the restaurant. Dinner was good. We paid, left a tip on the table, and left. We were just about to our car when the staff member chased us to the car screaming about how we hadn’t left a tip. How dare we not leave a tip for all of their hard work. (Keep in mind they left the restaurant unattended that entire time to yell at us on the sidewalk. Good thing the place was empty, I guess.) One of my parents then went in, walked straight back to the table, showed them the tip, and put it right back in their pocket. I remember vividly that family member telling them that their abusive behavior earned them NO tip, a report, and customers that would never return. … We’ve never been back.
Remember, as a customer, if a situation makes you uncomfortable, please leave! Don’t keep yourself in that situation for your own sake just to be polite or nice <3
