Friendly dive serving bar bites and drink favorites. A welcome addition to a neighborhood that struggles with affordability. Susie Q’s offers $5-7 beer selections all day and beer + shot specials. The pulled pork sandwich and cornbread were delicious complements. A couple of High Life ponies rounded out a fun experience. Welcoming staff and warm atmosphere, recommended!

A good bar with nice atmosphere! Prices were fairly affordable and the environment is friendly and easygoing. The pool table makes it a bit cramped when people are playing. The food was okay. We tried a few things, some better than others. Shout out to Steve, he is a great bartender!

Suzie Q’s is exactly what Navy Yard was missing. Perfect neighborhood bar with cozy retro feel. Great prices and top notch BBQ. Beer and shot combo menu is nice touch.

Great laidback bar with a neighborhood spot feel otherwise missing from the bar offerings in the Navy Yard. Selection of beers is large with fun shot combos. Bartenders are attentive and friendly. Food is well executed and the menu is perfect for a small bar…the mac & cheese is particularly delicious. Will be back often.

DELICIOUS. Their Big Brisket Sandwich ($16 with house made pickles, bbq sauce, & slaw, & onions). Plentiful, with a bbq sauce you can put on anything, just a tad bit dry.
DELICIOUS. Their St. Louis Style Ribs ($18 half a rack chili rubbed with house pickles, bbq sauce, & onions). Nicely chili flavored skin, just a tad dry.
LIKE THAT! Their Smoked Wings ($14 chili rubbed with ranch dip). Well smoked, mildly spicy, dip these into the bbq sauce!!
DELICIOUS. Their Cornbread ($3). Good…that’s it, good.
DECENT. Their Mac n Cheese ($6 with shells, breaded, & bacon bits). Cheesy, a tad bit watery.

The pulled pork meat is as good as you will find anywhere. Tender and smokey. The sandwich, however, is really small by bbq standards, almost like a small slider and the sliced white onion and pickles are different than I’m used to seeing but easily dispatched from the sandwich. Cole slaw’s taste is unlike any southern style coleslaw that I’ve ever had, not good. The deviled eggs disappointed, as they apparently freeze them?! and they were still slightly frozen. Nobody should ever freeze deviled eggs; absolutely took the flavor away. Can’t speak to the other dishes as that’s all I ordered. I grew up on Arkansas and TN bbq so maybe I’m just spoiled. I’ll give Suzie another chance to improve.

This is like exactly what Navy Yard has needed. A casual spot where drinks are not 16 dollars – you can hangout and theres a cozy amount of room for friends, and dogs! Right by the dog park is amazing for when im out walking my pup. The food is also insanely great – which you can tell by how many orders they are preparing to go everytime im ordering at the bar. try the ranch water it is the best drink on the menu.. goes down almost too easy!!

Suzie Q is such a great addition to Navy Yard. The area has a lot of cookie-cutter spots, but this place has way more personalit — super laid-back, slightly divey in the best way, and actually feels like a neighborhood bar. Drink prices are great, and the food is way better than you’d expect. Definitely my new go-to down here.

The pierogies and the brisket on mac & cheese are both pretty good and would be my go-to’s. Everything else is average: not bad but not outstanding. My chief issue, however, is that the employees don’t just regularly park in the ADA spaces in an empty parking lot, but that they regularly park in the wheelchair area *between* the ADA spaces so that they’re both unusable.

We love it here! The food and drink options are fantastic, and the neighborhood vibe is perfect for a casual summer afternoon. Even with the later hours, there has been no disruption or negative effect on the residential areas nearby. It is a great Navy Yard spot!
