If you are looking for a lively, unpretentious place with a great atmosphere along the Gzira seafront, Suzie Q is the right answer. Its “Tapas-Burgers-Cocktails” formula immediately promises a relaxed evening, and the experience did not disappoint.
As soon as I arrived, I immediately felt the typical energy of a street food venue but with a polished touch. I sat outside, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the promenade, though the interior also has a modern and welcoming vibe.
The real highlight was the food, particularly the tapas and burger offerings. I started with some tapas, the Buffalo Rough Cuts (breaded chicken bites with buffalo sauce) which were crispy and super flavorful, perfect for an aperitif. I wanted something substantial, so I went for their Bacon Cheese Burger. The meat was good quality (it seemed like local, aged beef) and cooked perfectly, with a combination of classic sauces and toppings that made the whole thing succulent and satisfying. The side of fries was also excellent.
Naturally, I couldn’t ignore the Cocktail section. I tried one of their signatures (the staff was great at recommending one based on my preferences), and it was excellently prepared, fresh, and well-balanced. The drinks pair perfectly with the comfort food soul of the menu.
The service was friendly and quite fast, despite the restaurant being busy. The staff seems very attentive to ensuring a pleasant experience.
In summary, Suzie Q is ideal for a casual dinner with friends or a laid-back but tasty meal. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant, but do expect great burgers, tempting tapas, and well-made cocktails in a cheerful atmosphere. I will definitely go back!
Place is small-ish and not show off, clean and tidy, welcoming, friendly and attentive staff.
Food – we ordered 3 different dishes, calamari were bit tasteless, but the beef quesadia and empanadas with corn were super flavourful and just perfect.
Had their winter special cocktail – spiced sleigh and it was really good too.
Overall – will go again when in the area.
The staff were really lovely and kind. Attentive but not over bearing. Really quick service, with a verity of craft beers and mainstream beers aswell.
The fresh lemonade was so tasty and 100% worth a try.
The food was mouth wateringly tasty, fresh and full of flavour. The best food I had in Malta by far.
Will be my ❤️ place in summer
Together with the vast choice of cocktails, a perfect place to relax and chat.
Staff are very knowledgable and helpful.
Corona sunrise was good. Big choice in terms of alcohol.
It is a bit loud because of street and other restaurants
